Don't care for Bordeaux. Only drink Burgundy or Rhone.

I think young bordeaux is too austere and kinda shitty, especially compared to young rhone or young burgundy--for both white and red--well aged bordeaux can fucking sing as good as any wine out there and it ages so so soooo well in good vintages and even "off vintage" bordeaux starts punching well above its price tag with 10 years of age on it.

>What does /vin/ think

you must be rich.
>>
>>21623385
Don't sweat this just drink what tastes good to you. Also snobs look down on it, so there's that. I used to like it, I'm not such a fan anymore. But that was decades ago, preferences change over time. The wine may have changed too but it was probably more a me issue.
>>
>>21622749
Richfag detected indeed
I drink mostly Jura savagnin, but I live there so it doesn't really count

>>
>>21623907
Not actually rich (100k goy) but idk I just don't enjoy Bordeaux and find the other two regions far more enjoyable. And also how is Rhone, rich? You get some serious value stuff there specially cru stuff. On that note forgot to say (but kinda included) cru beaujolais too.
>>
>>21624021
is this a real problem or are you just trying to make ragebait with obscure references to something that didn't happen (but sounds like it would have)

also I think you misspelled "in France"
>>
>>21624192
>also I think you misspelled "in France"
exact same rules apply. Every French, Italian and Spanish wine that was hyped because it had a Japanese label on it has been overrated, not bad wine, but overrated.
>>
>>21618974
Is that a Lidl wine?
>>
>>21624199
I have never seen a japanese winemaker being hyped for italy or spain but to be fair I stopped going to the millennial tech bro wine shop where I used to encounter those kinds of things. now I get my bottle recs from a 70 year old man with an accent I can't identify who looks like some kind of ethnic but I can't identify that either

Speaking of Jap wine. I had some Muscat Bailey A while in japan and it just felt like a tamer Gamay.
>>
>>21624219
theres a few in emilia-romagna making natty orange wines and sparklers
>>
>>21624238
Gamay always came across as Nebbiolo's retarded little coursin
>>
Got some homemade lasagna cooking in the oven. Trying to decide between a Chianti Classico reserva and a Bibi Graetz Testamatta.
>>
>>21624356
I'd go with the sexy label bibi :P
>>
>>21624352
Not sure I agree (especially when you take into account price). Tho I do find nebbiolo, Pinot noir and Gamay similar.
>>21624356
Chianti here
>>
>>21624350
oh, that's probably why. I occasionally drink vecchia modena lambrusco but otherwise I don't touch italian bubbly and I can't say I've ever had an italian orange wine either
>>
>>21624368
if you like that you should check out paltrinieri piria lambrusco di sorbara, they drink well young.
>>
>>21624373
I think paltrinieri makes an even darker one than the piria, that one’s a bit pink.

Universal, Burg or Bdx glass?
Will use for everything but I mostly stick to (french) Chardonnays, Rieslings, and PN/Gamay.
>>
>>21624543
universal, I had a varietal specific phase back when I was too stupid to use the dishwasher for wine glasses, when they all ended up breaking I switched to universal and while doing the research on my next glasses also found out about the dishwasher thing, haven't had a breakage since
>>
>>21624549
But isn't a Bdx glass just a bigger Universal? Seems like a slightly better value? Idk.
I don't have a dishwasher so I'll take the risk.

Trying orange wine for the first time. This stuff, at least this particular bottle, is awesome - it has some of the lightness, delicateness, and crispness of white wine with some of the robustness or 'meatiness' you have with a red. I'm not a wine connoisseur and I just buy cheap dry whites and reds to get drunk - two bottles of wine will usually do me for a big night; it's a better and more panther-like buzz compared to drinking the equivalent amount of beer, which tends to make me feel sluggish. A cheap sauvignon blanc will initally be light and refreshing but will get too acidic, reducing its drinkability. A cheap cabernet sauvignon can initially be good but there's this almost metallic quality that starts rearing its head and leaving too much of an aftertaste by the second bottle - obviously you wanna get more drunk so you'll keep drinking anyway, but you become conscious of it being 'heavy' to drink. This orange wine bridges the gap and is very, very drinkable.

I really have to do some proper wine tasting to determine what I like beyond dry=good, sweet=bad.
