Share your canned fish.Just tried King Oscar mackerel, goddamn fucking delicious.Last night, had some Polar Sprats that had been sitting for quite a while. Not sure when exactly I got them but their best by is Nov 2025 and they tasted so much better than when I first tried them all those years ago.Still on the lookout for Wild Planet Yellowtail. Or any yellowtail for that matter.
the king oscar mackerel has become dryit used to be the best with the buttery taste but lately it is drier and denser almost reminds me of chicken breast in the texturemaybe i've had some bad batches because it used to be incredibly delicious and way better than their sardines with the same spices
>>21621609You gonna get deenz nutz in your mouth boy. Prepare for a good buttfucking.
>>21621609based 5am deenz posterjust cracked open a can of these bad boys
>>21622141OP here. Tried the lemon in olive oil tonight from king oscar. It was so ass, couldnt even finish cause it actually smelled like pledge. Doesnt bode well for the other King Oscar flavored mackerel i bought. So yeah, not sure about all the flavors yet but at least regular olive oil cans near me arent bad.
>>21623513That looks beautiful. Not the biggest fan of pilchards, but I'd throw down on those bad boys. What are they exactly?
>>21623635aldi brand hot sauce deez. 90 cents a can over here in the southeast. absolutely delicious spicy chili harissa sauce with notes of lemon. gotta make sure they are the ones from morocco beause sometimes there are regular spicy ones in a louisiana style vinegar hot sauce that's not as good
I just picked up a small variety of deenz and saury from a Japanese market. I've had the saury before its delicious. The deez are from Choshi so they came at a higher premium. They're grilled too
>>21621609This is far and away the best preserved tuna I have ever had
>>21624014Damn I gotta run to Aldi later I’ll be on the lookout for these!
>>21621609OP I JUST HAD THOSE A FEW NIGHT AGO. Holy fuck it was good, especially doused with hot sauce. I ate them from the can
>>21621609Lucky star pilchards in chilli sauce. I ordered a 12 pack they fucking amazing...oil in pan. Add the pilchards with lots of chopped onions ( don't fry the onions before). Let it fry for a few minutes. Seriously the best
>>21621609I saw that the Japanese eat too much salt and have high blood pressure, and I thought this seemed like something they would eat, so I tried adding an unhealthy amount of soy sauce to canned fish and it's really good.
>>21621609Deenz are on sale at Costco right now so I’m stocking up, aiming for a good 120 tin hoard.>>21624347Sounds tasty, please post your thoughts on the Choshi once you’ve tried them
>>21625401They were really tasty. Each sardine was split with a nice charred exterior that added a sweet smokey flavor which the salt compliments pleasantly. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again very easy to eat anytime and straight from the can
>>21621609got some smoked oysters a few days ago (chinese ones in cottonseed oil; Northern Catch brand, from Aldi.) was my first time having oysters. I liked them quite a bit. interesting textures and flavor; reminded me of cheese curds. Also got a few cans of their deenz, all polish in soybean oil, they were just fine; I normally get COTS so I'm not too snobbish or anything, they're pretty comparable in quality. good quantity, about a dozen a can, with a couple pretty sizable ones in there. good flavor, probably carried a bit by the added salt. Only negative that stood out to me was that they supposedly contained smoke flavoring; but I wouldn't have noticed had I not read the label, they weren't smoky.all good. can't do much better for a dollar (dollar fifty for the oysters.)
