Why does a well done steak generate such strong negative opinions? I genuinely don't understand why my life has been threatened over how I enjoy my steak
>>21623989The only people that actually give a shit are high end steakhouses, and it's only to cover their ass in case some retard comes in and orders a $100 steak well done and then complains it's overcooked. Otherwise eat your steak how you want.
>>21623992>high end steakhousesoxymoron
>>21623989Why do you care what others think about your $1.25 steak?
>imagine actually heating a steak killing all nootrientshttps://youtu.be/x937xePlfVE?si=kmsJHeOVM04B8LMJ
>>21623989>strong negative opinions>strong>>21623997anon, you stop that nonsense.
>>21623989it's not that deep, it's just one of the obvious examples of a person having poor childish taste.
I used to work with a lot of Jamaicans and they wouldn't eat any meat that was even slightly pink. We would get leftover prime rib from banquets and they would microwave it until it was dark brown rubber. They couldn't give me a good explanation as to why but I figured it's because their meat was of poor quality and if it wasn't fully cooked through they ran the risk of getting sick from it.
>>21623989Yea it's really weird. I can just toss some water on a well done steak and it'll be the same thing as a medium rare steak. If I wanted that nasty ass sour taste I would just throw A1 sauce on it, same exact flavor with a bit of an extra kick from the sugar. You also can't grow strong distinct facial features without chewing.
>>21623989im going to kill you
If they are paying for it they are getting a perfect well done and i won't over cook it like how so many other subhumans do
>>21623989Hell yea squirrel tactics
>>21624839it’s just occurred to me that “well done” might not have a limit. Like there’s a minimum amount of cooking needed for “rare”, which if it falls short it’s “blue rare” or simply raw. But well done could mean you cook it for 10 minutes or an hour
>>21624321I think the real reason is quality of Healthcare. If you live in a shithole with no real medicine or medical care youre basically on your own if you get seriously ill. You or I could get put in the ICU in a medically induced coma and survive a lot of horrendous shit, but someone in the third world is simply going to die in those circumstances. (and then this behavior takes a while to be unlearned over generations)
>>21623989>I genuinely don't understand why my life has been threatened over how I enjoy my steakI'll kill a nigga who wants a steak well done
if you bought the steak you cook it how you likeif i buy the steak i'm not going to waste it
>>21624991Have you had any Cabot cheese lately?
>>21624321I can confirm this. One of my carribean friends in college would cut his steak and ask me to re-sear it on all sides. He also thought drinking cold water would fuck his digestion. Professional soccer player, pretty intelligent guy. Voodoo practices ingrained from a young age.
>>21623997while i wouldn't call it an oxymoron its definitely a waste of money because anybody can cook a steak to their liking and won't have to pay a 200%+ markup on it there are other reasons to go to a steakhouse though
>>21623989Because "well done" is rarely done well.
>>21626035Not "voodoo". Third world. All they can afford is rancid meat so they basically have to burn it to make it somewhat safe to consume, and even then. They're not used to having quality food, much less meat.
Bad cooks failing to actually do it well and customers thinking it's because they wanted fully cooked meat.
>>21626035>pretty intelligent guy.
>>21625045I heard this in the voice of a nigga who likely enjoys his steak well done too
crispy bacon "people" deserve the exact same ridicule well done tards do.
>>21624316Taste is completely subjective.
>>21623989If you enjoy well-done steak, then there are other, cheaper cuts you'd enjoy equally as much, if not more, meanwhile, you are buying an expensive cut that someone with functioning taste buds could have enjoyed when cooked correctly, and driving up the price for them. That cow died for you, the least you could do is give it the respect it deserves.
>>21623989Guys hit their 30s and desperately try to fit into a niche and bbq bro is fairly easy to get into, watch a few videos, spend anywhere from $50 to $5000 on equipment, and you can argue the opinions others have told you because having a personal opinion could place you in opposition with other bbq bros and you just want to fit have play dates like the good old childhood days so cooking steak isn't your real desire you just want companionship and are willing to artificially present yourself in order to fit into a middle aged man archetype. So long as I am served meat that is edible I don't complain. Maybe things will change when I hit 30.
>>21626858No.
>>21623989Because its a thirdie filter, Anon. People who like well done steak are poor or brown or both, because good steak is always done best medium-rare or rare. If you like your steak well-done, its because you're buying the quality of steak that is so shit that it needs to be overcooked in order to be enjoyed, which outs you as black or mexican or white trash. That is why.>>21626858>Taste is completely subjectiveNot really. Taste is a standard. Not everyone has the same taste but you can usually tell who the shitty thirdies are by theirs.
>>21627972>Not really. Taste is a standard. Not everyone has the same taste but you can usually tell who the shitty thirdies are by theirs.Hard disagree. Taste is far from standard. Take American fast food, it is heavily flavored with salt and sugar to a degree most places that don't eat food like that find unpleasant. To people who grew up eating McDonald's, that's the standard taste. If you didn't grow up eating it, it's not. I grew up here, but we ate almost all home cooked meals and it's what I still do. The first (also only) time I had a chicken mcnugget as a kid I threw up shortly after because it was so nasty. I don't say that to disparage either chicken mcnuggets or the people who like them, but the notion that anything from a rare steak to a chicken tender has either universal appeal or lack of appeal is stupid.
>>21628149There IS and objectively best way to serve certain foods, I like cold pizza the day after a lot more than hot pizza but I equally recognize that hot pizza is the best way to serve it. My love of cold pizza doesn't matter to the fact that hot pizza is objectively the preferred method.
>>21623997Imagine living in such a nothingburg flyover town you think high end steakhouses don't exist. How many barn animals wander through your "downtown" area?
