I like it and it's way more enjoyable to me tooI just cook the oats in chicken stock same as you would with waterwhen it's down I add fresh chopped onion, tomato and chilis plus some spices. Usually basic curry blends works well
>>21627768I visited this place during a food tour of Greenwich Village.https://www.oatmealsny.com/I liked the savory items that I tried.
I cook the oats in beef stock then crack an egg or 2 (or 3) into them and stir until creamy. Then I add a big spoonful of cottage cheese and maybe some 10% Greek yogurt.
Sounds interesting. It's like a healthier version of congee/jook.
>>21627768my savory oats is getting top raman chicken season packet, then use that in my oats. i thought i was a genius when i discover that, wouldn't recommend if desperate.
>>21627768I prepare with chicken broth, then add shredded chicken, scallions, sesame seed oil, black pepper and salt. For me i oats tend to absorb flavors so I over season and go a little more salty than a normal soup
Nice way to switch things up from berries and yogurt. I cook them the normal way but add butter, pan cooked sausage rings, over easy eggs, sriracha. The butter and egg yolk make it so creamy and decadent, it’s incredible.
>>21627768splash of olive oilmilkdried oregano and/or basilpeppersaltin microwave for 2-3 minutes. And done
>>21627768Been eating them for a couple of years now. Used to just top them with a fried egg. Now I have them all kinds of ways. My current favourite is with a few tablespoons of tinned beans mixed in. Borlotti, cannellini, butter bean, kidney bean etc. Then top with an egg because thats the way I like them.
>>21627768I cook them in a little bit of tsuyu and mirin, add wakame and nori sheets, the whole shebang. Top with a ramen egg or just a regular egg
