There's no real odor. It sealed the smell of the peppers inside the jar. This jar has been fermenting for about 50 weeks. The peppers look beautiful. There's no black, red, brown, purple, green or grey anywhere on it. I've just never seem kahm yeast this thick before. Anyone an experienced fermenter? The white is not fuzzy at all that I can see. It's almost glossy.

>>21629887The light variances in shade in this pic are due to reflection mostly. It looks lighter in person.
Kahm is a very thin layer, this it thick and fuzzy so looks like mold.
>>21629927It's not fuzzy at all. And I've found a few places that show thicker kahm yeast layers that even seal the jars.
Taste it. If it's yeasty it's kahm.
>>21629938I might do that. It literally resembles what a mother looks like when its sitting in too little liquid. I suppose if it's gross, I could just wash my mouth with mouthwash. I doubt it'll be instant death. Again, it doesn't smell bad at all. I can't even smell the peppers. It's sealed the jar.

>>21629949It's probably good and made your peppers extra tasty.
>>21629954Kahm yeast isn't "good." It's typically treated as a bad flavor, but you just skim it out. Mold stinks, though. This doesn't stink.>>21629951yeah? If you have information, type it. I don't read minds.
