>‘Buy one get one free’ offers on unhealthy food in supermarkets are set to be banned in England from Wednesday.>The restrictions on multi-buy and price promotions, which will apply to supermarkets, high street shops and online retailers, aims to make it easier for families to make healthier choices.>Free refill promotions of certain drinks in restaurants and cafes will also come under the ban.>Ministers say restricting these promotions are an important step to tackling obesity.>The measure, which has been under consideration for years but was initially put off due to the cost-of-living-crisis, will also be followed by a ban on junk food advertising on TV before 9pm from January.OI. YOUR SNACKING AND FAST FOOD LICENCE HAS BEEN REVOKED. For less than the cost of a Big Mac, fries and a Coke, you can buy a bag of freshly dried mealworms, which you will enjoy much more.
Report all citizens who complain about this to the local constable so they may be imprisoned for dissent.
I hear they have a "buy one, give one to a thirdie migrant" offer instead.God, Bongland is such a dystopia. May the people come to their senses and overthrow parliament before the country is lost
Yeah, this is cuntish. I'm British and I don't really buy that shit. I've only got one kid and I'm not poor. But these sort of deals, or multibuy discounts were probably probably a godsend for struggling parent(s). Say you get a BOGOF pizza, or a 2 for £4 and you have 4 kids. Dependent on their size, that could be feeding them a meal each for £1. And who's to say that the other days the parent(s) aren't providing healthier meals. It's actually helping all the large supermarkets though, as loyalty card offers are still allowed. Sign up and you get rewards. But to be honest, I haven't seen many BOGOF or multibuy discounts in supermarkets for a while. They're probably ahead of the game. On top of this, the loophole is that companies can still do things like 50% off. So if the pizza was £4, it's now £2, so same thing as a BOGOF.
>>21631937To add to this, the whole point of it is fatties. More fatties = larger financial burden on the NHS. My problem with any of this sort of thing, sugar tax etc. is that how do you know the extra is going into the pot for everyone? My other problem is fatties are gonna fat, pissheads are gonna drink, smokers are gonna smoke and so forth. I don't really see any of it as a preventative measure, as they'll find a way around it. I've seen black market alcohol, cigarettes etc. why not black market junk food?
>>21631821>wall of textYou could have just posted a link, newfag.
>>21631942What if you just eliminated the NHS and let health insurance companies drop people who clearly don't care about their health?

>>21631948That would be penalising the larger percentage for the smaller. It's a debate that will rage on, but I'm of the opinion that healthcare is a basic human right. I suppose I recognise that not everyone has equal capabilities. Not everyone can 'make it' but are destined to struggle through. They wouldn't be able to afford insurance or whatever else. It doesn't mean they're bad people, necessarily. There are a lot who abuse it or don't look after themselves and I have nothing but disdain for them. I'm not some bleeding heart. From personal experience, I got made redundant in 2010 and I got extra money because I signed a compromise agreement. It was essentially due to a broken coccyx, I couldn't perform my duties. Anyway, I applied for countless jobs. I couldn't get one, even the most menial. Usually due to being overqualified (I don't think such scrutiny is in place here anymore). But it was 9 months. They helped with paying for my accommodation, gave me a pittance for everything else. But in that period, I had three operations to sort it out and I was fully healed when I managed to get a job.
>>21631983I'll admit that I do get horrified at the amount of stoppages I get in my salary now. Largely due to the fact that I don't trust where it's getting distributed. Both the tax and the national insurance. It's grim to think that I work like a dog and potentially some lazy nasty little cunt is benefitting from it. But, again, what about the low skill hard workers, or the people who are down on their luck like I was.
In my .nl shithole the gubbermint banned supermarkets from giving big discounts on beer. This made the breweries and supermarkets a lot of money. They sold us out too many times. This will not stand.
