Go for a toaster oven instead of a microwave if you are really so poor that you don't even have access to a kitchen with a proper oven. Much, much more versatile for a similar price.

air fryers are good too. most modern air fryers and toaster ovens share a lot of functionality, so either are good options. an instant pot/pressure cooker would be good too. whichever you can find for the cheapest. I would go for any of those over a microwave, easily.
