What is the point of recipes? By which I mean, I spent an hour making ready to put a lasagne in the oven, plus the time needed to cook it. When it would have taken a fraction of the time to just throw it all in a pot and make a bucket of slop that ultimately would taste the same. Same goes for things like pies and such.

Might as well just throw it all in a blender and then chug it. The food is all going to the same place, anyway.

'm not quite there because I recognize the purpose of texture, but I could be convinced because honestly' mouthfeel' sounds like a meme

There are plenty of pasta dishes that are basically exactly that. Sounds like you would rather make something like a baked ziti/pasta casserole. Lasagna is more of an occasion dish you make when presentation is important, because humans are aesthetically driven creatures, especially in social contexts - and social activities are often centered around food. But if that's not of concern to you, then just go ahead and make sloppa, sure.

Things like lasagna and pies are for when you're cooking for other people
But yeah, if you're just cooking for yourself, it doesn't matter

Recipes are made when impoverished humans got desperate and forced to be creative with what they had. You can just eat whole foods on their own.

What happens when you add 9 tablespoons of salt to a pot of rice instead of 2?

That's what recipes are for.

Texture is half of the fun

It really doesn't take any more time to layer the lasagne. At the point you've done the meat and the baschamelle
