Is the premade food at your local grocery store any good? It isn't at mine and it's really pissing me off.
Depends on the store. I've got a ridiculous number of supermarkets within two miles of my house, over two dozen with another two being built as we speak (and that number expands drastically if we add another mile on top of it).One chain has good sandwiches, house made pot pies and muffins. Another two have decent sushi. A third supposedly has a good hot foods bar but I've never gotten any.The only thing my family and I get with any regularity are the sandwiches because we get this unlimited use digital coupon every other week that reduces the price on any sub/hoagie to just $5. My wife likes sushi from the other two chains and they both get them from that sushi delivery company (Hissho?) and one of those two stores has a location near her office. One store outside of that radius has a schizoid mix of offerings, all made in house, like spanakopita, gimbap, tamales and suya, and they're all surprisingly fucking good. What do you like that your stores don't carry (or carry shitty versions of)?
>>21635802The fired chicken at a fry's near my house was extremely good, then a few weeks later it was over cooked shit.
>>21635828Ah that sounds so nice. Used to live near a small Korean produce store that had really good sushi, and across the street from me was a local grocer that did great bbq on the weekends. Now I’m in a sucky small town and it’s just Kroger and Safeway premade slop (although the fresh made deli sandwiches are decent).
>>21635802The hot bars at my store are very food but outrageously expensive. Might be an nyc thing our eggs are still $12+ a dozen
>>21637553Good* typo
>>21635802>Is the premade food at your local grocery store any good? No, it's shit. It's always shit at any store.
>>21635802we got a Giant here and their premade foods are alright. Specifically the chicken/potato meals.
>australiaThe two big supermarkets are mostly roast chickens, though they do also have 1 or 2 roast pork or roast beefs that sit on the shelf four hours until they get put on special because they're so expensive. they might do small chicken pieces, nuggets at lunchtime. They sell the same prepackaged cold sandwiches & wraps that the servos sell and they're okay but stupidly expensive. independent stores, especially once you get out of the city sometimes have a fish & chip type shop inside.
No, it always looks weird so I have never tried it.

Wegmans (western NY) is pretty solid. They do have a history in food service, so I guess that's to be expected. Just a bit funny to think of a supermarket making so much food. I guess that's what makes easy money.
Hannaford is pretty good but it's too damn expensive.
>>21635802there's some decent stuff at a place i can get to, but it costs exorbitantly
>>21635802Buying english muffins and frying an egg is infinitely better than anything they sell. Often the soup is alright but very bad for you.
>>21635802you mean like "fresh" bakery stuffits decent for the price
Bakery stuff is always good since there's not much the wagies can fuck up and get away with in there.Produce stuff is also alright since even though there are plenty of wagies that are retards and will make salads with rotten lettuce you can easily visually inspect everything.I rarely trust anything out of a deli because it's the department that has to do the most and worst cleaning and I know they're too lazy/overworked to do it properly. The only exception is the rotisserie chickens since management knows they can't fuck around with salmonella so they always put people that won't fuck it up on chicken duty.
>>21635802it's overpriced and bad. worse than fast food, somehow
