wife served me undercooked shrimp. i bit into one and it was kinda chewy, so i looked at it and the inside of the pink was grey and translucent, the outside was barely pink.

told her hey i think this one needs a little more heat. she said oh well it was doused in lime juice and the recipe says to just cook it for less than 2 minutes. its supposed to be a little bit raw.

i said oh ok and just ate it and then pretended the baby needed me so i said Hold on whats wrong with the baby? Baby needs attention! and off i went.

She could tell I wasn't gonna eat it so she said sorry, maybe you can still eat the vegetables. I said no everything's good, I'll eat it later, the baby is calling me.

after she was done i took a better look at the shrimp. it was basically barely dipped in hot water. I think when she says 2 minutes, she actually cooked it for 20 seconds. She has this problem with everything. When she makes a soup or stew, she just 'assembles' alll the ingredients, and right when it starts to boil, she turns off the heat and serves. So the resulting stew just tastes watery and undone.

I don't know what to say. If I tell her hey this shrimp might put us in the hospital if we eat it, should she be getting an attitude with me?

Not him but I am a single engine AOPA pilot and I cook efficiently. Heat everything to boil then shut off and let it cook over time. Don't need to rageboil hardboiled eggs or your breakfast skillet. Use less heat, learn to use a lid on your skillet. Can cook just as well for less cost. Don't need to rush everything.
>>
>>21641558
That takes skill. I think I need to just man up and say MMM SO GOOD and if I end up shitting my guts out she will get the point then. Talking about this is stupid
>>
>>21641587
Just use a lid. Cooks everything so much better anyways and easy on your non stick pan.
>>
>>21641542
What a sad post. Be a fucking man
>>
your wife made you a meal, and youre being ungrateful and complaining. shame on you

I'm going to be sick
>>
How's the situation with the peaches between you two?
>>
>>21641622
well dont be mean to your wife then
>>
>>21641542
How long was it between when the shrimp was “cooked” and when you ate it? Also was it previously frozen shrimp?

I could be wrong but my assumption is that raw shrimp is a lot safer than raw bivalves

>>21641636
I bet OP is like Prometheus’ eagle, each day eating the last peach
>>
>>21641645
Frozen shrimp, ate it right away after cooking
>>
>>21641542
The worst thing you can do to a shrimpie is overcook him. Less time cooking is better than more, for a shrimp.
What did she make? I know from making ceviche that the acids in the lime should help "cook" seafood.
Just be nice and say it needs to either sit in lime or heat a little longer. You don't have to be mean about it.

As for the stew, same thing. Tell her that the flavors need to get to know each other a little longer in the hot tub. Women like it when you make criticisms silly and friendly.
>>
>>21641639
i was never mean to my wife. i ate the shrimp, and now i got the chills. It's fucking over
>>
>>21641676
it was actually something like ceviche. the shrimp wasnt chopped though, just whole shrimp, cocktail style. the inside was grey and chewy. is that still safe?
>>
>>21641677
karmas a bitch. next time be nice to your wife, bud.
>>
>>21641690
i was never not nice to my wife. i ate the shrimp...
>>
>>21641687
If it was frozen before, then that likely killed off anything truly dangerous. You're probably fine.
Shrimp usually only take a couple minutes to fully cook anyway.
>>
>>21641698
Alright. I'll refrain from giving her the silent treatment tonight.
>>
>>21641714
>silent treatment
so you were already mean to your wife and were going to continue being mean to her?
>>
>>21641720
Not just planning on being mean to her, but planning on being mean to her in the most little-bitch way possible

Silent treatment wouldn't have solved anything. Things don't get better unless you talk about them and be reasonable and understanding.
Was this the first time she's cooked shrimp for you?

I give this fictional marriage in this fictional story two or three years before she leaves him because he's a passive aggressive dick who won't directly confront a problem. Wives don't want their husbands to have pissy woman energy. He could show her what she's doing wrong in a non-condescending way that doesn't make her feel stupid but he'd rather "duh baby" and run away. People like OP are impossible in relationships.

my wife, my rules.

>>21641757
Yeah, let's see your marriage. Oh wait you're forever alone. haha! Boom, roasted
>>
Today, OP learned that women don't belong in the kitchen.
>but ""they"" say women belong in the
They lied to you. Women can't cook.
>>
>>21641757
Idk I'm on my third divorce because women apparently DON'T like being screamed at when they do shit wrong over and over and over, no matter how many times you instruct their stupid asses.
>>
>>21641867
would you be interested in a fourth marriage? i dont mind being screamed at
>>
>>21641874
I'm paying three alimonies, no. Clearly, I am not meant to be married.

I've been with my wife for 10 years now. We met in high school, and I got her pregnant. She is and always has been a lazy person and a shit cook. I wouldn't even mind eating shit food if she at least made it on time. But she rarely did. We'd get into screaming arguments constantly about how lazy and worthless she was. I felt like an asshole for it, but goddamn she was a real piece of work. The only reason I dealt with all this was for the kids, and also because the sex is great. But one night, I got fed up. Not only did she get drunk, neglect the kids, and made me top Ramen for dinner, but she decided to give me attitude too. She was being real fucking bitchy. So I told my grandparents to keep an eye on the kids and told my wife we were going to go out and have dinner together. I drove maybe 3 blocks to a quiet area (we live in Oregon, it's not hard to find a quiet field) and I got out of the car, went around like I was going to open her door for her and let her out, and I just beat the shit out of her while she was still seatbelted. After a few punches, I asked her if she wanted to go back to her parents. She started screaming and yelling and said yes, so I beat the shit out of her again. Then I asked her what she wanted to do. She finally got smart and said she wanted to go home. So I took her home and dared her to start trouble. I even handed her my cellphone and dialed her mom's number on the drive home. I made her talk to her mom, while daring her to fucking say something. Before that incident, I had never laid a hand on her. But I had always threatened it. I told her "one of these days, if you don't straighten up, I'm going to lay hands on you." All my meals have been on time, and she just recently tried to make a meatloaf. It was mediocre, but I was just thrilled that she tried. Do with this information what you will.

The best pasta is leftover pasta.
>>
>>21641542
Do you two idiots not know how to have decent, honest conversation with each other? Just ask her to cook the food a bit longer because you don't prefer to eat undercooked stew and raw shrimp. If saying something that benign pisses her off, try cooking for her while asking her to help assist you in the kitchen. When she does, show her how to cook properly without being a dick about it. Make it appear as if she's teaching you while doing it.

Most 60 year old women can't cook either. More like over 80 at least in anglo countries.
>>

Thats why you beat your wife
You are a hammer and shes a sword
You gotta beat her into shape
Its not to late to make up for the lost beatings
Hit her with a stone cold stunner

When I was a kid this pasta had some sort of connection with Long John Silvers, like that's where they were driving to instead of a deserted field, anyone else recall that? I'm having a real Mandela moment here.

>>21643420
Youre probably combining 2 pastas in your memories

Ok, fine, but I did see those gunships bursting into flame off the shoulder of Orion that one time

I know the pasta you're referring to and I'm pretty sure they're just 2 different pastas.

Was it the one where anon gets shorted on tartar sauce and brandishes his pistol or some shit

Can't hardly blame him, the only tolerable part of eating at LJS is a cold 32 oz fountain tartar sauce
>>
>>21641542
What's the problem with raw shrimp? If you were served that in a JAPANESE restaurant, you'd be taking Instagram pictures before gobbling it down and saying how delicious sushi is.

>If it was frozen before, then that likely killed off anything truly dangerous
freezing doesn't kill bacteria
>>

It kills parasites though.
