Why did no one meltdown about the Perkins rebrand they way they did Cracker Barrel?

I don't think anybody knows or cares about Perkins. We still have them in my city but I haven't considered going to one in a long time.

I remember the main drag in my town in the 80s. it had a perkins, a ground round, and a wendys with the big glass sunroom.

They had a deal where kids ate free with an adult meal, so my parents would only have to pay for 1 of 3 kids. This was still back when they had smoking sections. I always remember seeing the pie case right when you'd walk in, I think you got a slice included with the kids meals. Just looked and the location in my hometown is still open, the outside looks almost identical to how it did when I was a kid.
