I left my fried chicken in room temp for 36 hours. Is it safe to eat?
>>
no
>>
>>21641679
>safe
No

>Would eating it hurt me?
Maybe. If it were me, I'd reheat on high and still eat it, but I'm dumb.
>>
>>21641679
Just nuke it to Hiroshima levels in the microwave.
>>
It's fine if it tastes OK. Frying is a method of short-term preservation
>>
>>21641679
Definitely not, please dont eat it
>>
No, it's not. You could have Googled this instead of killing a fast food thread.
>>
Of course it is
>>
>>21641679
14 hours is the longest I've let food sit at room temperature. Ordered a shit ton of food, got drunk and ate the rest after waking up. 36 hours is insane.
>>
>>21641679
Definitely. Just heat it up proper temp before consuming.
>>
>>21641679
yes, enjoy. opened sauce, maybe. just go and get some fresh sauce and enjoy it even more.
>>
>>21641679
no you'll become fat
>>
>>21641679
maybe, maybe not
>>
I wouldn’t but you might get a greentext about it
>>
>>21641679
why can't you fucking niggers EVER post original images on a fucking image board? we would all love to see your 36-hour chicken anon, show us
>>
>>21641679
I've eaten KFC left out at room temperature for more than a day and was fine, nuke it if you want, but I ate that shit cold and maybe got the shits at worst.
>>
>>21641679
I've eaten pizza that's been out at room temp for days and never gotten sick from it. Big refrigerator puts out a lot of propaganda
>>
Highly depends on where it was stored.

I've eaten pizza left in the oven for 3+ days and never got sick, pasta left in the pot over night and finished in the morning and never sick. A slightly outdated cauliflower dusted off and boiled for 30 minutes? vomited for 2 days
>>
>>21641679
Not safe, but that doesn’t mean there’s 100% chance you’re gonna get sick
>>
>>21641679
If it was in a moist/humid environment then no, otherwise yeah there's no problem.
Just do a visual, smell, and taste inspection before eating any food you're not sure about and you'll be good.

According to the above study, it takes between a week and a month for botulinum (the only relevant source of food poisoning that isn't immediately obvious) to develop to an appreciable amount even in foods that are most susceptible to bacterial growth.

OP here, I refried the chicken and ate it
It was a bit chewy but I didn't get sick
>>
>>21641679
Are you a Tasmanian Devil? If so, yes, that chicken is safe to eat.
>>
One time I ate a sausage that was like 3 weeks expired (I didn't realize this until the event was over,) and within like 90 minutes I was hot and dizzy and puking and shitting with my body in full-on purge mode

We are no longer dating.

Yes you're gonna get stomach cancer
>>21642924
You're a little bitch btw
It's better to leave it outside than inside because the temperature is lower
>>
>>21641679
Cooked food is generally fine out for around 3 days. Breads for a few weeks. If it has odd spots, insects, or smells and tastes bad, it is bad.
>>
>>21642512
Lmfao. I just got a new popeyes opened near me and already they're having a scandal on selling and old, rubbery chicken.

Bread goes bad in a week if left outside the fridge in my house

Clean your fucking house. You must have mold and mildew all over.
>>
>>21642964
Bread is generally good as long as it is not moldy.
Which can be often forever if you take your old dried out bread and mill it into breadcrumbs
>>21642970
>bread
>fridge
Grim
>>
>>21642983
I live with a woman my house is probably cleaner than any of yours
>>
>>21643019
My house was never dirtier than when I lived with my ex. She was a fucking goblin.
>>
>>21641679
No
>>
>>21642983
He probably keeps it in the sealed plastic bag, thus making the air around the bread moldy
That, combined with buying good bread that isn't jam-packed with preservatives, makes fresh bread go moldy at room temp after a week at most.
>>21642970
Consider getting a bread box. It'll go stale slightly more quickly than if you kept it in the original plastic bag, but makes the bread last for multiple weeks if your home is well ventilated.

Tbh I also live like 200 ft from the ocean so the humidity is pretty high
>>

Where do you live?
>>
>>21643636
northwest brazil
>>
In my experience, 2 days is fine, 3-4 days or more might be iffy, especially depending on where the chicken is from. I usually microwave/reheat it before eating
>>
>>21642924
yeah this never happened
>>
>>21644652
>2 days is fine, 3-4 days or more might be iffy
Put it in the fridge
