>"don't go to chain restaurants, support a local family joint!"
>it's the same Sysco shit as everywhere else
Thank you for making all restaurant food taste the same, I'll cook at home instead.

Never fear, citizen.
>>
>>21642742
I agree OP definitely should.
>>
>>21642737
It's just an impeccable food logistics system that makes accountants happy for having to only deal with one set of invoices. You could use Sysco to get good ingredients delivered, or make your restaurant taste like slightly differently cooked Applebees.
>>
>>21642776
True. Dealing with their invoices is so much better than dealing with 6ft tall receipts from restaurant depot.
>>
>>21642743
Ah, the people that supply prisons.
>>
>>21642737
You'll cook at home using food from the same grocery store supply lines as everyone else? Guess your cooking must be the same as everyone else's since you're using the same system to supply you with ingredients.
>>
>>21642825
My food isn't made out of molecules, plebian.
>>
>>21642737
>it's the same Sysco shit as everywhere else
Unless you live in some extremely remote place where ingredients are extremely difficult to source I kind of doubt it. At least not for every locally owned restaurant.
>>21642825
You can still go to a farmer's market or co-op. Even some of the big retail chains are trying to do more local sourcing.
>>
>>21642737
>it's the same Sysco shit as everywhere else
Don't be American. Problem solved.
>>
>>21642737
Where can I buy directly from sysco?

>My food isn't made out of molecules
Let's see how that claim works out for you.
>>
>>21643748
he's clearly on the trendy monad diet
>>
>>21643298
They used to have a cash and carry but not anymore so you're SOL. Try a different brand cash & carry and they'll carry similar stuff from the same factories.
Or if you have a friend at a restaurant you can ask them to order something on your behalf and then pay for it under the table but be prepared to take a whole case of whatever you get to your freezer.
>>
>it's the same Sysco shit as everywhere else
This simply isn't true and I don't understand why you people claim otherwise. Do you live in some weirdo area where Sysco has a total stranglehold on local food logistics or something? They force all local eateries to sell nothing but burgers and fries?
I very, very highly doubt Sysco have
• rabbit in gingerbread sauce
• roast duck with apples
• lamb and cucumber soup
• silken beef
• curried pompano
• bakwan tahu
• doro wat
• etc etc etc
as frozen ready meals to be reheated by restaurants.
Otherwise, Sysco just sell raw ingredients. It's no different than sourcing your stuff from the Piggly fucking Wiggly.
>>
>>21642737
just eat what you want, stop living for politics
>>
>>21644932
uuuhh local eateries do NOT make shit like that. they do red lobster style cooking where you put it in the industrial microwave. yes you can even get ethnic food like plantains
>>
Sysco does fresh produce too, don't they? Your average mom & pop diner or café probably just uses them for that or ingredients like bread, cheese, and pancake batter while cooking it their own way.
>>
>>21642737
The last time we went to a family restaurant, the staff was all ex cons and the waitress argued with my wife when they served shitty coffee.
We mostly eat home cooked food now. Service is so rude even at the good places now and everything is so expensive. Also, there's to much fucking salt in everything. You really notice it when you have leftovers at room temperature. It's like a fucking deer bait salt lick.
>>
>>21645125
Bruh… hasenpfeffer and duck with apples aren't "ethnic food". Fucking Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck talked about that shit in 80 year old cartoons.
But if you ever get the chance to try silken beef, I can't recommend that shit enough. It's basically a spicy beef bratwurst on a fucking sword and shoved into a fire pit for a few minutes. It comes out all charred and delicious and many places that make it have the pit in full view of the diners so you can watch them mould the meat onto the swords and shove them in there, all fresh-like
The name might vary, though. In brown language, it's often called resham beef
>>
>>21644932
No but sysco sells pretty much all the ingredients for these which upsets schizophrenics
>>
>>21645319
Kinda.

The schizos on this board worked for conglomerate kitchens who ordered from the Sysco menu.

But if you have a nice restaurant in bumfuck Kansas and don't have the resources to buy a whole 50 thousand pound truck load of the best beef in the country packaged 50 miles from you, the middleman becomes important.
>>
>>21645137
look into freshpoint
>>
>>21644920
Thanks anon
>>
>>21645125
>uuuhh local eateries do NOT make shit like that. they do red lobster style cooking where you put it in the industrial microwave.

What God forsaken fly over hellhole do you live in? Every time I hear shit like this it makes me glad I live in NJ where there is enough competition to keep food quality up. Also does Sysco even sell kosher or halal food?
>>
>>21645921
I think anon was being facetious. It seemed fairly obvious to me from his use of uuuhh.
>>
>>21645921
Yes they sell p much everything like for example the former sysco test kitchen chef in canada dominic could source us foie, iberico, caviar, waygu cut same day flown in on the charter jet contracts they had at the time
I don't understand this thread or calling a food distribution company "slop" when the orderer is at fault for buying said slop product.
if you order slop you get slop and serve slop it has nothing to do with the products they carry
>>
>>21645941
Where exactly do you think steak comes from?
>>
>>21645951
Farms with in house slaughter and butchery, butchers who buy cattle at auctionsband then process it themselves, food distribution companies where you can buy cuts from specific ranches that are processed for you
Do you have a point to make?
>>
>>21645959
Imagine going through all this dramatics when I already said I picked up 50 thousand pounds of the best beef in the country at national carriers.

Bruh
>>
>>21642743
These people didn't hire me in my hometown even though I've worked at Sodexo for 5 years at college
>>
>>21645968
Slit your fucking throat you retarded animal i hope you get sideswiped by another trucker who doesn't know quality v quantity like you
>>
Spend more money and eat at farm-to-table restaurants utilizing local products.
>>
When I first saw someone post this, it went something like " when eating out its like seeing who can make the best sysco menu"
then it dawned on me....uhhh...no. There are so many different food providers...sysco, kuna, performance, yamasho, luckys, yadd yadda....its simply not true....plus if you want to go seasonal just get shit thats in season locally if you want to go bonkers.
idk OP youre a fuckin retard
>>
>>21646295
There are only 3 national broadline distributors.

There are still a dozen or so larger regional distributors as well, and some smaller local ones, but the big 3 make up a significant chunk of the market.
>>
>>21646282
I mean that's fun and all but I said all this shit back a decade ago. You can want to slit my throat all you want I've actually killed people in Afghanistan. But you are stupid as fuck.
>>
Imagine learning about logistics and thinking it is evil.

I've killed men. I don't think sysco is evil.
>>
>>21642776
It's an illegal monopoly that isn't broken up only because the US financial regulatory bodies stopped functioning properly decades ago
>>
>>21646307
Im glad your a trucker after the sandbox them you deserve it :3
>>
>>21646308
Sysco is almost certainly responsible for more deaths than you.
>>
>>21642828
Degenerate (matter)
>>
I too got this video recommended to me.
>>
hahah people actually support this fucking company? this place is so fucking toasted lmao. like it's literally the goyslop provider.
