What does whale taste like? How's the texture?
>>21646462Go hang out with Eskimos and tell us
>>21646462I had a deep fried whale cutlet in Japan. It was pretty tasteless, like dry mild beef with a hint of iron. Not worth it at all.
>>21646462What's that man going to do with the hockey stick?
>>21646563Forget that, why's a cassowary being birthed through the blubber like a chestburster in bottom left?
>>21646462Dunno, but tell me this doesn't look delicious.
Its oily and its commonly eaten on newspaper because of the smell and absolute pain in the ass it is to degrease plates in sub zero weather
>>21646462I've had whale steak twice in my life. Once as a 8-9 year old, and once as an adult. Both times it tasted exactly like pure fish oil. It was awful. SUPPOSEDLY that happens mostly if you don't know how to "properly" prepare it, but somehow I doubt that.
>>21646572I think that's the eye
>>21646618Sounds delicious to me. I hope to try some one day
>>21646622>I hope to try some one dayGo chew an omega 3 capsule and you're there.
>>21646624I like the taste of fish oil capsules yeah. An entire steak of that sounds like heaven
>>21646627Okay grandpa.
>>21646618What was the texture like?
>>21646653I don't remember. The taste was so overpowering I didn't think to take notice.
>>21646462It's like a fishy lean beef. It's quite good to be honest.
>>21646462Had whale sashimi in Japan, 75% tuna, 20% beef, 5% iron.
>>21646462>What does whale taste like?Like heavy metals poisoning

Had some in Iceland. It was actually really fucking good. Not chewy or fatty or oily. It was minke whale with smokey celery and malt sauce. The puffin sucked. The horse tartare was meh. Ling and lamb were good. Artic char or flatkaka was great. Brennivin shot first was like sucking off a licorice stick. Gross.
>>21647000>like sucking off a licorice stickYou swallowed?
>>21646560>>21646687>a hint of iron>5% iron?Meaning it had a slight metallic taste?
>>21647043Yeah, like blood.
>>21646462Had whale sushiRed meat, a lot like steak or horse.
>>21646462according to a cousin that lived in kotzebue it taste very strongly of fish and was extremely chewey.
>>21646627
>>21646627gross
Like salty beef
>>21646627Are you a fucking Rockman from the center of the earth?
>>21646462Whale meat is really yummy, it tastes like a cross between tuna and beef. People who say it's bad only have decades old experience when freezing and preservation technology weren't developed. Modern Japanese technology can deliver whale meat in near perfect condition.
>>21648729>a cross between tuna and beefSounds dericious

>>21648729>fridges are modern technology………
>>21648745Refrigeration in the West: :|Refrigeration in japan: :O
>>21646618I think this is true because it is true for basically everything, especially uncommonly used ingredients. Everything has unique qualities; each dead whale is a special snowflake.
>>21648745Ensuring fish freshness requires a sophisticated supply chain from catching to market to plate. This is why only the advanced countries like Japan can deliver great raw fish.
>>21646462imagine eating a sentient being, might as well eat a dog or your mom you sick fuck
>>21646462chicken
Never tried but I was at a Greenland fish market and it smelled metallic.
>>21646462I tried some in Japan. Like slightly fishy beef.
