Natural light. None of your gay ass german dirt beer can compare to simple and ubiquitous domestic macro lagers. America always wins baby. germany is one of our vassal states.

I had two premiums. Gonna maybe have a whiskey later. Might take a nap first though

drinking some vodka and sodas, and a couple of vodka/ice teas. Need to stop drinking though, hopefully this is the last time for a while. I have bipolar 1 so yeah. It doesn't affect me and I've been stable over a decade and no episodes, but I have to cut out anything that could even remotely possibly cause a problem. Which, sadly, probably includes this site. Chairs fuckers.

i'm intrigued by american lager, only examples you get over here are bud, coors and miller and mainstream craft stuff. is your average american beer any different?
>>21652926
looks good anon enjoy
>>21653037
just get on the red wine anon, great stuff
>>
>>21653173
Coors is a decent representation of the generic American lager. Not too sweet, not too crisp, very inoffensive and very refreshing when it's ice cold on a hot day. The more local stuff like yuengling are a bit better, but ultimately the whole point of them is to be able to drink a lot in one sitting for cheap.
>>
>>21652832
I can't drink because I always black out and get arrested lol and weed makes me paranoid as hell. Just got to be 100% sober all the time with nothing to take the edge off, fucking sucks lmao
>>
>>21653193
>ice cold on a hot day
This is kind of a non sequitur but euros generally do not understand the American beer experience because they have literally never felt 95+ degree (F) temperatures with high humidity. Beer means something different here, and if you want to joke about "bottled watter", that's by design for the working man.

>>
>>21653272
Yes, even the basic normie lagers differ. Here in Poland the average beer is like 5.5% ABV and no one drinks light lager. It's considered bad for a beer to be too light / watery. The average lager used to be even more full bodied and heavy here, but in the 90s the privatized breweries realized they can cut production costs by making drier beer.
>>
>>21653272
counterpoint to this is that yuropoors generally do not use air conditioning so the average mcdonaldland drinking experience occurs at an ambient temperature 10 degrees lower than in yuropooria where people will sit outdoors and sip zogbier under the star of david when it's 27 degrees and humid and have a couple of beers and it's no biggie, meanwhile americans are getting blasted with 15 degree bone dry recirculating air while drinking pine sol flavored 11% abv sugar syrup and they're still sweating like pigs because they can't handle natural weather conditions

it may be true that 80 years ago americans enjoyed an ice cold lager at 95 degrees F, but in this day and age that is absolutely unheard of considering nowhere indoors is it 95 F and if you so much as open a bottle of beer outdoors in america you will immediately be arrested by the religious police, ergo nobody ACTUALLY drinks le ice cold macro lager like the memes say
>>
>>21653342
oops I mixed my temperature scales there, sorry for having a passport xd xd
>>

American beer is shit not because of some climate difference but because american breweries are retarded and put corn, rice or corn syrup instead of adding more malt. That's why they taste so fucking watery and pissy, the amount of malt flavour is significantly decreased because a significant fraction of the alcohol is fermented from these additives that don't contribute much to the flavour.
It's like brewing a 2% beer and adding vodka to it.
A beer should only have yeast, water, hops and malt (barley or wheat, rarely rye). Nothing else.
Meanwhile:
>bud light: rice
>coors light: corn syrup
>stella artois: maize
>american budweiser: rice
>miller light / high life: corn syrup

Why amerilards put up with this is a real mystery.

>>21653490
Mostly under certain circumstances
Like if you're at a concert or sporting event and they're literally the cheapest option at $12 or whatever
At parties with a lot of people, especially college parties
Or when it's literally so hot you put beers in the freezer because they have a lower freezing point and you want to drink to cool off and not get drunk
I've been to a bunch of countries everyone has their swill and their good stuff
>>
>>21653434
It's indistinguishable from most countries popular beer. The delusion that euros drink better beer than American is fucking dumb and outdated. Most of you drink swill that isn't any better than Coors apart from MUH MALT!!!! Congratulations it's just sugar

I've been looking for a replacement for my favorite discontinued beer (Spencer Trappist Quaddrupel) and have been trying every dubbel/quadruppel I can get my hands on. I was going to settle on a Unibroue Maudite as my preferred substitute, but they stopped importing that into the states, so the quest continues.

Currently drinking the Straffe Hendrik. Little too roasted for my tastes. Decent, but probably won't get again.
>>
>>21653562
It's true that most other countries drink slop too. Carlsberg isn't really any better, just a bit stronger.

The only countries where the average person drinks good beer are Czechia, Germany and maybe Belgium and Ireland. Even the brits mostly ignore their own distinct ales nowadays to drink more alop lagers

Or a porch, a garage, a shed, a deck, or a shed, apparently. Not to mention hiking, camping, beach trips, fishing/boating, baseball games, stadium concerts, restaurants/bars with outdoor seating, etc. Presumably all of their public spaces have been given over to rapefugees while they huddle in their tiny commieblock apartments afraid to go outside.

>Smithwicks Red Ale
What's been your recent experience with this in Ireland? In the USA export market, I think the changed the recipe a few years ago, and it tasted more like modern Newkie Brown (not a good thing), and it also seems harder to find, like local distributors gave up on it. It's too bad, because "normal" ales like S'muhdicks are still tragically underserved in the amerishart market.
>>
>>21654572
>Smithwicks Red Ale
Many years ago, I worked for a market research company and we did a study for Guinness because they wanted to introduce Smithwicks to the US market. We did focus groups where we recruited people to drink Guinness nitro draft, Smithwicks draft, and Smithwicks nitro cans---all poured into pints. It was awesome, because I could get hammered with the Irish guy they'd hired to pull the pints. End result---no one liked the Smithwicks.
>>
>>21654597
>they wanted to introduce Smithwicks to the US market.
It's still here, just harder to find. Now I'd have to drive an hour to buy it, and they only sell it it 4-packs of jewish pint cans (15oz). No more 12 packs of bottles like the old days. But I still allege that they fucked up the formula somehow, made it less malty and more bland.

We can also get Murphy's stout in 4-packs of jewish pint cans, but it's barely even worth it. Mass-market Irish stout is a "session" beer at best, Murphy's is 4.0% ABV, less than Budweiser, and I think it's actually closer to a "lite" beer in terms of calories, hardly the "liquid bread" that Americans imagine. At least Guinness has the wherewithal to sell Draught cans in 18-packs at a slight discount.
