It has come to my attention all this thing does is measure how many times the container is opened and tipped forward. Are there hard numbers anywhere on how much water they assume is being filtered per tip and what that looks like for a normal cup?
>>21655348Haven’t changed the filter in my brita in like 8 years. I’m not sure why I even bother to use it - it’d probably be safer to just drink the tap water
>>21655348Filter life actually depends on how nasty your input water is. So even if you have "hard numbers", your local water quality dictates how often you should swap filters. If you want to be scientific, weigh your filter. You can calibrate to max life by finding out where your filter hits max weight or stops filtering altogether.
>get water quality tester to measure contaminants in water>tap water is 220ppm>tap water through fresh brita filter is 195ppm>install under-sink RO filter>RO filtered water is 15ppm>RO filtered water through brita filter goes up to 85ppmThese things are fucking worthless
>>21655354noway with all the buildup you gotta be getting close to triple filtration don't stop now>>21655348mine holds a quart and I just figured it only had to do with opening the lid>>21655367you son of a bitch
>>21655367What specifically do you think you're filtering that is so harmful85 ppm of WHATExplain specifically how 70 ppm of thing makes a differenceYou can't, because you have no fucking clue about any of it and your "knowledge" is the equivalent of a fucking tribal doing a rain dance
>>21655424>85 ppm of WHATTDS. Any non-water that's been dissolved in your water. Usually metals, added cleaning chemicals, and other contaminants.>Explain specifically how 70 ppm of thing makes a differenceIt probably doesn't make a difference for you. You're so braindead that you can chug as much lead and flouride as you want and it won't change you. For me personally, I like my water to be made of water.
>>21655424>ppm of WHATthat's the problem pal. we have to question it. idk about you but i don't like foreign debris in my water. i want my water to be pure. when i drink water i don't want to microdose myself with a cocktail of contaminants. we are 70% water. do you want to be tainted? infected? probably not. water, the one thing essential for all life has been compromised by God knows what, and here you are, coddling yourself in ignorant bliss. get a grip, faggot.
>>21655348I just change it when I notice it filtering really slow from all the built up sediment or w/e
>>21655424dumb reddit spacing faggot

>>21655354Enjoy cancer.
>>21655827>reddit spacingGo back you arrogant newfag retard.
>>21655850>replacing the filters almost costs as much as re-buying the whole thingnothing personnel kid
>thinks his Brita has a gyro meter It's just a timer anon
>>21655772Humans have evolved to drink contaminated water. You are coddling yourself.
bubble babies these days get upset about dissolved minerals in their water as if they dont live on a ball of dirt kekw
>>21656427Humans have evolved to deal with a lot of harmful things. Doesn't mean you shouldn't still avoid them. Humans evolved to deal with bone fractures, too. You're not coddling yourself by avoiding broken bones or not drinking sewage water. That's just not being retarded, something you're unfamiliar with.
>>21655440>>21655772Try drinking distilled water and see how far that gets you.
>>21657160Why? Are you really so retarded that you think this is a comeback?
>>21657160This is the same guy who thinks you die if you eat rabbit.
>>21655348Get water testing strips if you're that concerned. Otherwise just swap them out every month/6 months/year or w.e.
>>21655348>It has come to my attention all this thing does is measure how many times the container is opened and tipped forward. You should also know that the reason you never need to replace the battery is because it uses a radioactive isotope to measure the decay over time. It is both the battery and the tool
>>21657160i do. have been for years. my bloodwork is nearly perfect. i am in great health.>>21656427we evolved to drink contaminated water during a time period where industrial byproducts, fluoride, atrazine, lead (in most parts of the world), dissolved SSRIs, dissolved birth control, chlorine, microplastics, etc. didn't exist in our water supplies. our immune systems can handle water that has been mildly contaminated from bacterial sources. go to ewg.org/tapwater and see how fucked it is for yourself.
>>21656339Isn't it just charcoal? Unless you're implying he's getting all that collected build up. I have one and change the filter like, once a year. Never because I have an off taste/color, but because my slightly crusty hard water tends to build up on surfaces when dried.
