Which is better
>>
for what?
>>

neither is better or worse, they're just different. but if I had to choose just one to use, it would be onions. more versatile.
>>
>>21658430
Just eat both?
Why make a competition like a shonentard?

The brain says onion but the heart says garlic.
>>
onion can go in everything savory, there isn't a single thing that onion doesn't improve,

garlic is potent and good when it is good but overpowering in more subtle dishes

>garlic overpowers subtle dishes
When cooked, garlic becomes subtle enough not to overpower more nuanced dishes. Onion would overpower as well if used in big raw chunks, but you can choose how you chop and how you cook it. Same with garlic.
I do think onion is more versatile because you have a lot of varieties and with cooking you can unlock a wider range of flavors, thoughover

Why haven’t they made an onion-garlic hybrid yet?

I'd miss the garlic more than my dad (rip), but there's no replacing the onion.

The japanese don't really seem to use onion but use garlic a lot. Garlic is less work. Even raw onions are more difficult to prepare than cooked garlic.
>>
>>21659786
yeah no, if anything garlic is harder to work with than Onions on account of how it burns a whole lot faster, you can literally toss a bunch of onions in a pan with some salt and just check on them every now and then until they're translucent

Gyudon is like one of their most popular dishes and it has lots of onion

You can just taste the outer layer off and boil garlic and make a delicious paste
>>21660033
I acknowledge this but I saw a Japanese person say it online, and notice Japanese always put garlic paste in their food and never use onions whenever I see them do home cooking.

>>21658430
I eat raw onions to be honest with you.

Americans eat deep fried food a lot but mostly from stores. When cooking they hardly ever deep fry, especially outside of certain states with deep frying cultures.

I eat both cloves of Raw garlic and raw white onions, the raw garlic makes me horny for some reason, but the white onion is tastier .
