This is the best steak I ever cooked, bros. I think I've ascended.

Cooked perfectly. Patting it dry, salting it, patting it dry and then letting it sit for 2 hours really does the trick.

a steak is so simple it can literally be made by a george foreman grill, it all depends on the meat and not adding gimmick shit to make it taste worse

Looks like you didn't get quite full contact on the pan. If you have a spare cast iron pan, you can use that as a weight to make sure the steak gets full contact when searing.

Yeah I definitely thought the same thing too. I tried pushing it down a bit on each side but it wasn't enough.

>If you have a spare cast iron pan
why I have never come across this or even though about this before. this is brillo. I want to use my cast iron grill pan and use my flat lodge to weight down the steak. maybe I'll do that this weekend weather permitting
>>
>>21661729
I never thought about it either until I asked how much of a meme steak weights are, and someone said just use another pan.

should i use mustard sauce or powder when cooking steaks?
>>
>>21661633
God DAMN that looks good
>>
>>21661860
Yes. I used one tsp of it in my steak seasoning.

>>21661861
Thank you. It was good. Better than a $120 steak I had at a fancy steakhouse.
>>
>>21661633
how did you cook it?
pan only, pan + basting, pan + oven, reverse searing...?
>>
>>21661869
What was the sauce?

Can't quite tell what the sauce is. Is it supposed to be steak au poivre?

Stainless pan, sear on both sides with the algae oil, then put into the oven at 375 for around 12 minutes? Took out when it was 119F.

>>21661928
Fond from the pan, de-glazed with red wine + vegetable stock, heavy cream, butter and a pinch of the steak seasoning I made for the steak.
>>
Looks incredible, well done OP

You should really just get a good cast iron burger press. Weighs down steaks AND can smash a good burger.
>>
You don't need to add flat leaf ontop as a garnish next time mix it into your pan sauce unless you personally prefer the bite of it raw then carry on
But it is gaudy as is
>>
>>21661628
Looks… fine? There’s no escaping that it just a hunk o meat cooked in a way even the most inept boomer can manage.
>>
