did people used to eat these or what?
>>21672008it's a question of freedom
there's actually nothing wrong with eating silica gel it's more of a choking hazard type thing
I respect the first human to have eaten a mushroom.
>>21672013>nothing wrong with eating silica gel>it's a choking hazard
Silica gel isnt toxic but it can irritate some people throat and digestive tract, also some of them may come with fungicide pesticide, if its regular silica gel with nothing added there shouldnt be any danger eating it but there is no benefit either, may aswell eat sand too if you feel like it.
Porous substances such as activated carbon may be administered as adsorbents in the event of poisoning.
>>21672056then why don't all bags of sand come with labels saying 'do not eat' on it. something happened here with this here silica stuff.
>>21672008Makers perfect sense, you’d be unable to distinguish it from a salt or pepper packet if it wasn’t labeled
>>21672148Yeah, some kids in the 70s and 80s ate them and some bad shit happened. Get over it
not food not cooking fuck yourself
>>21672008Why is it in quotation marks? It's like its mocking me, tempting me.
>>21672159>decedent silica gel>not food relatedcmon man
>>21672008It's an American thing - some retard probably ate one and he later sued the company for him being a retard.
>>21672017My dick is a choking hazard, yet you suck on it every day.
>>21672008Fuck you I won't do what you tell me*eats silica gel*
>>21672167>It's like its mocking me, tempting me.
>>21672181Oh benevolent soda bottle jins give me the strength to stomach this silica gel packet for it looks delicious
>>21672008People probably accidentally downed it while moonching and the label is to keep makers from getting sued.
>>21672159Silica gel in food is a desiccant used in packaging to absorb moisture and keep food fresh, but it is not meant to be eaten and should be thrown away immediately. While “food-grade” silica gel is non-toxic, the packets are labeled "do not eat" because they pose a choking hazard, especially for children. The packets themselves are a serious choking risk, and ingesting a large amount of the beads could cause an intestinal blockage
>>21672008>>21672148>>21672159Because it’s often included inside some packaged foods, retards.
>>21672192Thanks chat GDT
>THROW AWAYbut>"DO NOT EAT"
>>21672316
>>21672335i've done this more than once, but it was food still in a bag/wrapper so it was like it was never even thrown out but just jostled around a bit.
>>21672335what is this, a zoomer food storage bin?

>>21672008you must be new to this planet... have you not seen who we "elect".
I tape them to the bottom of my spice jar lids to keep the contents dry.
>>21672008no one ever ate them, at least not on purpose. it's to remind retarded adults to not leave it around so their brain dead crotch fruit don't eat them.also pica
>He's never sprinkled some silica on his 'zaWhat are you some college kid?
>>21672008
>>21672056Some of the non-food ones that change color when they're saturated are actually toxic.
>>21672335>>21672361Wow, thay actually edited the episode for more subliminal product placement.
>>21672665>actually a different product that we're not talking about might be toxic if toxic shit is added to it!Thanks for your valuable contribution.
