ITT: places by you that are a front for the mob
They are only open 14 hours a week and charge $70 for two pizzas
>>
>>21674407
By a job I worked at almost 2 decades ago now there was a little sub shop that was only open 11am - 2pm mon-thur and only accepted cash. Best Italian beef I've had outside of Chicago though.
>>
Can't be a front for the mob. Whoever wrote that menu has no concept of the Italian language at all. The mob would have a little knowledge even if they don't do much speak Italian as they chew it up and vomit it into your ears. Either way, they wouldn't call something fiore di latre (multiple times; once was fiore di latra) or whatever the hell campangna is supposed to be (Campagna?).
>>
If they were a mob front, they'd be cheap
You have to lose money to launder it
>>
>>21674470
this. I knew one years ago that was a small local chain (not pizza), I doubt they made in three months what it cost to keep the lights on for a week.
>>
>>21674470
Oh, right. Like there's this bar in Philadelphia that's absolutely 100% a front for the Russian mob. It's called Tashkent. The drinks are retarded cheap but the place is always empty. How do they stay in business? Laundering obvs
>>
Some "local" places are like this. When I visit my sister they order from a local place and it's so expensive.. I'm cheap and mostly just do dominos/pizzahut and always w\ coupons/deals they have on the site.

I think dominos has ANY large pizza for $9 right now. But they generally have 2 or more medium / wings / sides @ $5.99 each which is pretty nice if you like variety.
>>
>>21674407
The places that are fronts tend to be visa mills, where the employees are anchors for other relatives to come here too. Also their service will SUCK. They want you not to ever come back.

$26 is pretty standard for a large pizza as the base price lately. So the prices aren't overly high anon. You need pizza that isn't homemade with delicious cheese, you switch to a national chain. It's okay, but sometimes you want something better.
>>
>>21674470
are they writing off their losses?
>>
>>21674436
im from the mob and i no hablo italiano

There's this place near where I used to live called Rico's Pizza, they're straight now but used to be 100 percent a front before the covid lockdowns
They only accepted cash, everything was priced like it was the 70s, and if you didn't have cash they had an ATM next to the counter
I mean, dead giveaway right there but they also closed at 8pm
What pizza place closes at 8pm even on weekends, come on
The place was run by a guy named Big Sal and I think Little Sal was his son
I ran into Rico once, he got out of a limousine with two I assume call girls, in a 3-piece pinstripe suit and they were in full length evening gowns, one in red sequins and the other in black silk
Mind you it was maybe 4 or 5 in the afternoon
It was a Maserati Quattroporte and it had a vanity plate that read Sicily2
Rico went in through the rear entrance and came out with a manilla envelope that was as thick as a phone book
Meatball sandwich was $2.85 ($3 even with tax) and it was enough to feed two people

Sarasota? If so, I ate there a few times, it was close to my brother's house.

There was an amazing Italian in Marco Island like that. They actually did close for some kind of money laundering scheme. I always assumed the early close time was "snowbirds" and their early bird dining schedules.

^they're still around but as you can tell from their prices, they've gone legit
Also the food is better, but kids these days won't know the glory of rolling into that shop with a hatful of crumpled up singles, eating their weight in pizza, then hitting up the sevo for Mountain Dew on D&D night
>>
>>21674995
Clearly.
>>21674996
lmao
There was a place, also in Philadelphia, called Gavone's that was found to have been a laundering front and shut down unceremoniously. ffs, as a front, you wanna fly under the radar but this place went out of its way to be a destination. And it was! Cheap drinks. Great sandwiches. Shitty pasta, though. Italian Americans can't actually cook, despite their claims to the contrary.
So its popularity was its downfall. Tashkent had the right idea: keep prices down but be inhospitable as fuck to try to keep people out.
And for those who don't know, "gavone" is Italian-American gobbledygook, a corruption of actual Italian 'cafone' meaning "boor" or "yokel". It's a class-marker, denoting the subject as boorish, socially crude and/or low class. So the fact that this person would call his establishment that in the first place is hilarious to me.
It would be like an American coming across a bar somewhere called "Redneck's" except cafone/"gavone" carries a far more negative connotation.
>>
>>21674407
Not mob but a place by me night be a trafficking site. Co owned by a convicted pedo, also get a way with having insane parties till like 4 am
>>
>>21675099
You live next to the white house?
>>
>>21675022
Nearly every BBQ restaurant I've enjoyed had a cash only policy. I carry cash all the time. I even hide some in my car for the emergency need to tip a tow driver or something like that.
>>
>>21674407
Forget about it.
>>
>>21674968
Dude just go to the freeze section of the grocery store if your straddling the price line between authentic wopslop and fucking dominos
>>
>>21675029
Heh, if I ever start an ethnic restaurant I'll name it after whatever their word for whitey is
>pho anh tay #1
>>21675109
Yeah I like to pay in cash especially for tipping because a cash tip isn't taxed and I get lightning fast delivery and bigger portions where I'm regular
>inb4 i never tip lol faggot
The greasy wheel gets the squeak
>>
>>21675129
my dominoes rules, you can even eat the handle
>>
>>21674407
Nah the mob run places are great. Places like that are usually run by an aging trophy wife with zero actual life experience and severe personality disorders who got given a business by her rich husband because it's a cheaper way to get her out of the house than a divorce.

>>21674987
Basically they run the business at or below cost but then add the mob money to their cash intake and claim that as profit to the IRS, so they can pay taxes on their mob money without having to actually report it as mob money and thus avoid the fate of Al Capone.
>>
>>21675129
>>21675234
My Dominoes is also well run perfection, every single time, but it's just ordinary soft crust pizza. Why would I want low quality pizza often. Nope.
I'm much happier with an occasional $26 pizza, that has some kind of amazing cheese, or toppings combo, a crust that has flavor that wasn't sprinkled on. And, I can get a great salad AND good garlic knots too.
I usually get from 1 of 3 Italian places in town and there's one that has sliced chunky homemade meatballs, and globs of ricotta, pieces of roasted garlic, that are utterly delicious, and only stripes of tomato sauce, letting the other toppings shine. It varies bite to bite. Love it. Another place has a 2nd "cousin" who arrived from Italy to do a side door takeout business (it's fine dining for the ret of the restaurant), and this guy uses cheese you never see sold. Figs and proscuitto and creamy gorgonzola and whatever else cheeses, it's a fun break.
>>
>>21675250
That and they can pay go-betweeners to say they bought X amount of product, but actually buy much less, and pocket the difference
This makes them money in a second way, since they can write off losses
But not all vendors are in on the scheme or don't want to be so sometimes they have to buy a whole lot of product, which is why they sell huge portions for nothing, and quality isn't a priority, just volumes
Good for high schoolers and bums, though
Such a beautiful cultural cornerstone, with the benefit of controlling non-affiliated criminals
It was genuinely better when the mob ran this place, but I understand that times change
>>
There's an Italian place in my town run by Russian tracksuit types. Nobody ever eats there. Been open for years.
>>
>>21675167
>if I ever start an ethnic restaurant I'll name it after whatever their word for whitey is
There's a ramen joint an Anon here was posting about and the name, Haole Ramen, translates to "white people ramen" in Hawaiian.
I think it's in Ohio
>>
>>21675310
If I end up running a restaurant, I will post about it here and you all can eat your hitler particles and enjoy some based cooking at my racist-themed comfy place run by a white dude
>>
>>21674412
Ur were eating people
>>
>>21674407
In my cunt we have a whole fast food franchise that NO'ONE ever eats at! U drive buy and never see many cars or customers.
But this is not related to the topic sense I never eat their either
>>
>>21674470
no
>>
>>21674470
same shit Five Guys did when they started out
>>
>Front for the mob
That really doesn't happen any more. You just need to realize mom and pop places will jew you even harder than jewish megacorps. The idea that a mom and pop shop will give you some special low rate just because they're local is a complete outdated boomer ideal. These local places are trying to rip you off just as much but they don't have the social acumen to do it as sneakily as the jews, and they don't have the money to hire a marketing team to hide it like the jews.
>>
>>21677191
OK, little wonder, how do YOU launder money?
>>
>>21677241
Laundromat. Not joking.
>>
>>21674470
This. Op is retarded. I've been to actual pizza places that laundered money and they are cheap and shitty and treat you as a pain in the ass if you actually order from them
>>
>>21677229
You could have made your point without being antisemitic
>>
>>21677408
Not good or cooking, tho
>>
>>21677241
The resturant is the end of the chain. A business losing money every quarter, yeah red flag audit fun time.

You need imaginary cash sales to record as profit. so inject dirty money from a cash "customer". then you pay no show employees with cleaned money and you turn a small clean profit.

Place i worked at, owner stacked fake tickets all night, deliveries from certain vendors always had a second invoice for stuff not on the truck stack of payroll checks was always twice as big as it should of been.
>>
>>21677857
>shuddidown!
>>
>>21677858
They sell Cheetos and Fritos and even Doritos, though(s).
>>
>>21677857
Jews love scamming goyim
>>
>>21674996
>RICO's
hehe
>>
>>21678176
That was my whole point. You need to lose money as a business to inject money to launder.

Sheesh
>>
>>21674407
the GN sound will never not be a litmus test for actual italians instead of larpers
