I'm moving to a new appartment without a built in oven, should I get an ai fryer or some kind of mini oven or toaster oven or whatever it's called
>>
>>21676835
get a countertop convection oven. more versatile
>>
>>21676811
my air-fryer got infested with lard beetles
I don't know how those fuckers survived the heat
>>
>>21676840
I want something that is big enough to cook whole chickens and pizza in it
>>
>>21676848
countertop oven is plenty big for a shut-in with no friends in an apartment

>buy rice cooker
>buy sous vide machine
>buy air fryer
>buy stand mixer with pasta roller attachment
>look up 2-3 really good seasoning blends
>buy quality ingredients
>food always comes out perfectly cooked and seasoned
>stop watching cooking shows
celebrity chefs hate to see it
>>
>>21676852
how else are I'm going to cope with being a shut-in with no friends if I can't stuff my face?

Same reason typists seethed at computers - they made them obsolete.

Here is a reddit autismo list of airfryers https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Y4PR6GCz-Lk5mWX1LUzo-3kChRBv302vSv5HZFB5K1c/edit?gid=1554522955#gid=1554522955

Reminder that some larger models still have the same wattage as the smaller models, so they will heat up slower, and may need some preheating.

eh I wouldn't buy that flat-ass fryer even though the two elements are tempting. This cheapo one from Lidl is great for pretty much everything.
>>
>>21676912
the point wasn’t to buy what he thinks is the best but use the information to get the one that suits your needs but isn’t a piece of shit
>>

Can't fit the frozen Sysco containers in them, so they're forced to use their microwaves.
>>
which one would be best for baking/roasting a chicken/turkey?

Air fryer makes great chicken thighs and pork chops! It's the best investment I've ever made when it comes to kitchen appliances.
>>
>>21676811
Because we're pros.

We know how to actually fry and we're not warming meals for one in a $40 plastic, tabletop convection oven.
Not to mention all the retarded shit people try to cook in them.
>>
>>21676876
Chimo.

>get a countertop convection oven
That's basically just telling him to get an air fryer.
>>
Try to fry a whole turkey heh
>>
>>21676854
You forgot the most important part
>Wonder where the fuck all your counter space went
>>
>>21676811
there really nothing special but very efficient for some things. its a downgrade from a toaster oven utility wise.
>>
reheat nuggies, frozen fries, toasts
>>
>>21676811
They're a relatively new invention. Restaurants don't use them. They weren't trained to use it, they don't know any recipes that use it. Also they're not concerned with health or calories, only flavor, so why would they settle for something that works just good enough, when they can deep fry instead and get perfect results?
>>
>>21676811
For when you want an EZbake oven but you absolutely mist hit your government mandated microplastics quota
>>
>>21676811
>make pro cooks
Guess because they works but aren't professional tools.
What really baffles me is why these didn't exist as early as the, say, '90s since are so fucking simple

what is the difference between air fryers, microwaves and normal ovens?
>>
>>21681012
normal ovens does everything but takes forever (unless you have fancy double one) heats the whole house and takes a ton of power

microwave good for reheating slop, boiling water
