The guys in my family are picky eaters and hate leftovers. They want shit cooked right before they eat/same day. How do I solve this first world problem.
>>

Eat the leftovers yourself, donate them to a community fridge, or adjust the recipe to only cook exact portions for everybody.
>>

Im not fucking cooking everday for more than half an hour. Is there recipes made of parts you can prepare beforehand and quickly put together.
>>
>>21677379
You have to force them to eat leftovers slowly. Make them face reality.
>>
>>21677371
Send them to some kind of camp with heavy labor, that makes you get over picky eaters quick.
I was FORCED to be a caddy for 2 years and it absolutely DESTROYED my pickyness. Now I eat anything and I am greatful.
>>
Don't feed them anything else and minimize their choices.

Are you cooking for them, OP? Why?
>>
>>21677379
>Im not fucking cooking everday for more than half an hour.
then they'll eat if leftovers if still hungry, or cook their own
>>
>>21677371
Don't cook for them
If they insist, make terrible food, they will stop asking
>>
>>21677371
teach them to cook. it's why I learned to cook.
>>
>>21677379
>Is there recipes made of parts you can prepare beforehand and quickly put together.
yes that is called a recipe
>>
>>21677371
tell them to eat the leftovers or fuck off and learn how to cook by themselves
>>
Don't cook for them anymore.
>>
just leave. walk out the fucking door. don't grab your things.
>>
>>21677371
Sounds more like weaponized incompetence to me, they don't want to cook or handle anything related to it so they don't want to try eating leftovers or cooking themselves.

B-but Dad :(

I guess kill yourself then because most meals take longer than that unless you just heat shit up in the microwave
>>
In my experience, the people who hate picky eaters are psychotic and incapable of empathy
>this thing provides me a negative experience
>>NO IT DOESN'T

Read about a kid in the local news who had such severe case of the 'tism he'd literally starve and malnourish himself to lethal degrees if he didn't get the right kind of sausage and french fries.
The school even bent over buying the special sausage and fries only for him but they didn't make it EXACTLY like his mom so he refused to eat it anyway. This meant his mom came from work every lunch and made the same fucking thing every day so the kid wouldn't literally die than eat anything else.

How the fuck can a kid who haven't become old enough to get psychological shit like anorexia NOT eat when his body is screaming in pain and hunger for food? How can a brain be so fucking busted?

Then they went to several doctors who basically said "if you force it, it gets worse". I can't believe this shit. Think about it, if his mom dies or leaves or whatever he would just die outright without medically forced nutrition.

You tell them to cook their own food.

The people who are actually picky are the people who should be happy to cook. If you're not the one who's cooking, you should be grateful for any meal that doesn't require your money and labour. That doesn't mean you have to force yourself to eat it if you really can't, but it does mean that you should ask someone who's cooking for you to leave you out of the equation in advance if you already know you can't eat it.
There are some foods that give me diarrhoea so if my family puts it in a meal, I'll just cook something for myself to eat. It's only a problem if they want us all to eat together, then I'll have to pick out the things I can't stomach. Sucks, but such is life, someone else always ends up liking the exact stuff I can't eat though, so it's always worked out fine.
In my family which I live with, everyone's schedule is too different to eat together regularly anyway, so we're all responsible for our own food. If someone cooks for everyone, they'll announce it in the group chat when it's finished and everyone who is home can come and eat. Everyone who's late is very happy when there are any leftovers at all.
And yeah, we don't always cook. My sister somehow likes cup ramen, my brother eats canteen food while he's gone and I like to just eat bread with different toppings over the day. Works.

>hate leftovers
>They want shit cooked right before they eat
That's some insanity, do they do this to their own leftovers when they cook? Will they get up and get groceries if there's nothing but leftovers in the fridge just to avoid eating it? Maybe you can offer the leftovers you can't finish by yourself to some nice neighbour who'll appreciate a free home-cooked meal... I hope you have good rapport with your neighbours

you can actually go multiple days without eating with like zero trouble so there was no need for her to leave work to make him lunch. he can eat dinner once a day.
but yeah he needs to learn to eat real food

Autistic kids are not dumb; they can be quite schemy, and they realize that they can get away if they scream, cry, or do anything that drives people nuts enough to give up.

>other people in my family are picky eaters and won't eat leftovers
>how do I solve this problem
Assuming they're old enough to know better, then YOU don't, not unless they want to get better. You can't help someone who doesn't want it. Are you a parent to young children with this issue or are they at an age where they need to deal with their own shit?
