last year I bought a pack of monster energy and forgot it in a box in my basement, today i found them, they were empty, the liquid ate the bottom of the can. is this normal? has it happened to anyone else?

I live in the tropics. I have a garage fridge for beverages. I very often dump my pallets of sodas and beverages near this fridge just for ease moving them into the fridge to get cold.
Every summer, I have to move them into the house, or this happens. Bublys have a tiny bit of natural juice, so they get metallic taste before they actually turn bad and start evaporating and leaking. Artificial flavors in diet cokes like aspartame, go bad when they get warm.
