All this shit could just go into a bowl. The one thing rolled rice and filling has is you can dip it into soy sauce individually.
>>21681108you mean a bowl instead of wrapped in seaweed?
wow you really mashed that avocado huh
>>21681126I could not be assed to wait for it to ripen so I just bought guacamole so really someone else smashed it.
>>21681108>I learned the reason sushi existsThen that's a job well done
>>21681108if you weren't a childless loser, you'd understand that container would feed several people instead of one person with a spoon
>>21681137I brought this to the workers at a dog shelter for their lunch. Which could still be put into smaller bowls.
>>21681129disgusting, just go eat a chipotle
>>21681144I will be making taco sushi for an event next week as well as chicken bacon ranch sushi. It basically is just small burritos for pretentious people.
>>21681143don't throw any dinner parties, no one wants your autistic take on serving
>The one thing rolled rice and filling has is you can dip it into soy sauce individually. We had a neighbourhood cookout a couple weeks ago and the Japanese girl down the street made "sushi casserole" which is a lot less gross than it sounds. It's just sushi rice pressed into a baking dish, topped with canned salmon, eel sauce, and green onion. You serve yourself a spoonful and pick up your portion from your plate a little at a time with some roasted nori, like an Indian using roti to scoop up curry. Not super popular but I think it's because she showed up late to the cookout while most of us were outside by 1pm. She didn't show up until about 5 o'clock and people were full by then but I tried it and it's quite good, actually. While I didn't do it, I could see how dipping each bite into soy sauce could be simple. I didn't even know we had a Japanese neighbour. I'm glad I didn't go with my first idea for the cookout: onigirazu AKA sushi sandwiches.
>>21681151That sounds pretty good ngl. And hella quick.
>>21681156>quickYeah, absolutely. My original plan was kinda similar, but Korean flavours and actual sushi blocks. Much easier than nigiri or maki but not nearly as simple as her sushi casserole. She said it's common at Hawaiian potlucks. So yeah. Glad I didn't go that route.Instead, I just made tofu fritters with mixed vegetables (bakwan tahu sayuran). People commented on how the hell they remained crispy even after they went cold and there were no leftovers from my six pound batch, which made me happy.
>>21681176how the hell DID they remain crispy?
>>21681179lmaoI forgot to mention it. Thought I'd had. Mix of flours and starches. That's it. Protein goes soggy relatively quickly and plain flour has about 10% protein. Starch keeps crispy longer. I used plain flour, rice flour and cornstarch but also chickpea flour as an egg replacement for the faggot vegans. I like to be dietarily inclusive but they're still faggots. So mix together, deep fry, wick on kitchen paper and serve on a platter in a single layer so as to not trap moisture. They stay crisp the same way potato chips do, which are also heavy on starch
>>21681108that CANT be staying fresh longer than you can eat them all
>>21681143That was nice of you, I think they look good (“NPC comment” anon fite me, guacamole rice is tasty). An easy addition I really like is to sprinkle some roasted sesame seeds on top, adds a little crunch and nice flavor.
>>21681129This is why we trust people that went to 20 year sushi school for our rolls and not some lazy mutt substituting whatever leftovers in to cut corners they can
