I had a pound of fresh mozz that I needed to use. What I've done so far is, pull out the slices, pat them dry, dip them in flour mixed with a touch of cornmeal, dredge them in eggs with some half and half, then into the panko/breadcrumb mixture with italian seasoning. I repeated the egg and breadcrumbs after that. Now they are sitting in the freezer till dinner.
I'm nervous about frying them in oil because I don't want to lose the cheese but I didn't see any recipes were people really baked these.
I'm not sure what time/temp if I tried to do it. 400 for 20 minutes? What would yall do with these?
(pardon the mess)

deep fry
at least pan fry
I had the deep fryer out today and I had to toss a couple cheese stick in there
those are gonna be good

I would just fry them. If you have a thermometer it's easy, just let the oil go to 365 degrees and then drop in.
If you don't have a thermometer, just wait about 5-10 minutes on medium flame, drop in a single drop of water. If it's hot enough the water will fry instantly.
Then each mozzarella patty you probably only need to do for about 30s apiece.
Tongs or a slotted spoon to extract.

Not that hard.

what about baking them first to set the breading just for like 10 minutes at 400 f then frying to get the color?

but really my recommendation is to freeze them if you can fit them in a freezer that makes everything way easier and then the breading doesn't fall off
but it might be possibly to set it in the oven too

I don't have a like deep fryer. Just a pot that I fill with out for frying things up.

I don't have a thermometer. I'm just worried despite double coating them and freezing them that the cheese will leak out and I'll ruin them. A lot of recipes I saw suggested a lower than average temp for the oil and like 1 to 2 minutes before flipping them. I'm serving them with spaghetti and meatballs and I just don't want to mess up dinner.

I have them sitting in the freezer they'll be in there for like 3 and a half hours I think. I'd be baking or frying them straight from there.

I put them in there on that pan you see there uncovered so they should freeze up well I think

that's what mine is too
I do have a temp gauge though
good luck
I'm not sure about the oven, maybe try a test one in the air fryer?

I meant to type oil in my original comment, my bed. I don't own an air fryer though I'm starting to think I should just get a cheap one at ollies. I really don't have a ton of space to put one though.

My *bad. I swear the autocorrect on my phone will straight up changes correct words to incorrect ones.
>>
>>21681438
you'll be fine just pan frying them, don't mess with them much and don't crowd the pan, do two or three batches

I worked at Sonic for forever. Mozzas were cooked at 350° for 2:15.

I've made some, and also fried store bought, despite not having an oil thermometer, not hard at all. You just have to hang right there as they fry and wither listen out for a different fry sound (thr cheese starts coming out) and can pull them when you hear the change in frying sound, or pull them up and inspect them for 2 seconds every few seconds.

Cheese freezes fine. It may end up crumbly when thawed but for any melting purposes this doesn't matter.
>>
In case anyone was wondering how they came out. I did end up frying them but honestly it was too high a temp and short a time I think

The usage of "my bad" is for mental midgets, hence autocorrect attempts to steer people away from such retardation
>>

If they didn't cook all the way through you can bake them to finish.

Those look like shit. I'm gonna shit in your mouth then put my dick in your asshole, get it all shitty then fuck the shit in your mouth with my shitty dick.
