>be me
>go to this new local restaurant with my mother after dropping our cat off at the groomers right next to it.
>it’s unironically pic related except more bureaucratically soulless. That fake rustic performative commercialized masculine millennial aesthetic with the wood and old fashioned lighting and metal and however else you are supposed to describe it. But also with a sports bar.
>place is empty except for one family when we come in and I comment wondering how they stay in business
>a waiter eventually comes to take our orders ((the menu was all American diner and Mexican food (also all the staff were women or Hispanic except for one young white guy))
>order a patty melt
>”and how would you like it?”
>”pardon?”
>they want to know how I want the ground beef cooked. As if it were a steak. Never had that asked before and thought it was weird.
>tell the waiter well done
>eventually get our food
>patty ranges from well done to medium
>go to use the restroom before we leave
>there’s screens above the urinals at eye level advertising the restaurant

update your meme, 17.95 is what a double big mac costs now
>>
>out and about
>see nice cheesesteak cart is nearby
>stop by, sign says “sold out for the day”
>oh well, there's a Kyrgyzstan food cart in the same lot
>never had Kyrgyz food before but feeling adventurous
>sketchy menu with AI images has no prices, one dish on there twice
>hungry, hopefully it won’t be too bad
>order a couple meat buns
>take a bite
>filled with bottom tier fatty beef and grease
I felt dumb spending money on instant garbage
>>
>>21681671
>they want to know how I want the ground beef cooked. As if it were a steak.
Veered into "obvious shitpost" way too suddenly. 2/10

that was wagyu. retarded swine

>""millennial"" burger place
>Manager is a Gen Xer
>Owner is a Boomer
>>

>Gen Z influencer
>Millennial
Generations are not responsible for the aesthetics and ideas of which they are associated. If you really want to see the culture and ideas of a generation, look towards what the generation below them is consuming.

>be me (late 1980s)
>met girl at a party, called her to arrange date
>heard good tales about a restaurant out in the sticks
>booked a table for two, mid week.
>picked her up and arrived about 8:00pm
>place was empty
>owner took our order and when it came to the wine he suggested a carafe of house wine
>"On the house" - he said
>halfway through our starter he came over
>"everything OK"? he asked, " yes fine" we replied
>he then pulled up a chair and sat down with us
>he started to make small talk with us and I was like WTF?
>waitress comes to clear the table after starter
>restaurant still empty and he remained, sat there talking
>main course arrived and he got up and walked off
>a few minutes later he came back and sat down
>he brought a glass and poured himself a wine from the carafe
>"I paid for this" he joked, as he poured.
>I was quietly fuming as he continued to make small talk
>asking what we did for a living and how long we had known each other, etc.
>I kept replying with one word answers, hoping he would get the hint
>Nope . .he still sat there intruding on our date
>didn't order dessert or leave a tip
>my stroppy attitude didn't seem to phase him at all.
>rushed our food and left about an hour later

Never went there again, although the food was good and it gets packed at the week-ends.

Lesson learnt: NEVER go to an empty Restaurant with a bored owner.

McDonald's is just as expensive as your Pic related OP. 17.95 is a good price
for a 1 pound burger
>>
>>21681671
>$17.95
>high prices
lol
>>
>>21682356
Man I remember seeing Christian apocalyptic movies as a kid and to show how bad things were they had a 20 dollar burger. I remember thinking how silly that was there's no way a burger could cost that much. We're living in the end times and we don't even know it.
>>

>>21684066
does the $20 burger come before or after the mark of the beast?
>>
>>21682356

Overpaying for a burger isn't really mark of social status.

>Go to local Asian restaurant
>Owned by Chinese immigrants
>Never a lot of people in there for lunch, business might not have been doing well
>Owner came out to talk to me for a bit
>Asked what I did for work
>Told him and said that Mark Cuban was tangentially related to the company I worked for just as a fun fact
>He starts pestering me for the next ten minutes trying to get me to bring Mark Cuban in there
>I have never met him or even seen him and am pretty sure he just owns a company that owns a company that invested in the company I worked for or something
>Just have to tell him that I'll tell Mark Cuban to come here if I ever see him

I haven't been back there in a while. It's a shame because I really like that place and would like to go back but the last time I went I was in the middle of a horrific life crisis and he gave me some mild grief about not seeing me for a while and it made me uncomfortable.
>>

What was the horrific life crisis?
>>
>>21684811
I was finally about to move out of my dad's house at 26 after saving money for years since graduating college and got laid off out of nowhere, which sent me into a massive depressive spiral and made me suicidal. I wasn't all together before that happened obviously but that just made it way worse.
>>
>>21681671
>>tell the waiter well done
Any restaurant doing any burger NOT well done needs to be a steakhouse. Sorry, but no. A patty melt is basically twice cooked. Anything rare is horribly underdone, and the bread is soggy and gross.
>>
>>21684776
>horrific life crisis
>>21684826
>I got laid off while living with my parents and that made me sad :(

>Went out with family for my grandma's birthday
>Restaurant is usually empty, but today is full of a church choir after their service or whatever
>Taking up almost every seat
>Singing church songs
>My family has to sit spread out across the restaurant in the only available seats
>Barely even get to talk to anyone since we're spread so far apart

Annoying old bastards. Even god would disapprove of their selfishness.

Uhh, no. Time to go somewhere else.

>Go out to a sports bar with dad
>He had some $15 off coupon and wanted to go out
>Order our food and some tea
>Tea tastes like it was strained through a dirty sock so I ask them to take it back
>With $15 off the check is like $10 or something
>Tip $5 so it's a 50% tip just to be nice
>Tell waiter to keep the change
>Counts the money and gives a disgusted look before walking away silently
nothing is ever good enough for these cunts

Chilis still has an 11 dollar burger, the biggest ilupsized meal possible from Hardee's might be 15 dollars now, unless youre trying to spend 18 dollars on a hamburger, you wont

>Zoomer Burger Starter Pack
Its just under $100 doordashed
>>
>>21681671
the typical milennial burger places are basically always empty, like every single time I walk into one of these there is nobody, well maybe one table is occupied but never any traffic, but like why every one of these looks the same? Like are they biochemically engineered in the depths of nyc sewers just to come out and start another fucking burger place like the rest?
>>
>>21684826
>made me suicidal
not really apparently
