what do i do with these lil fishies

I tried eating one out of the jar but it tasted pretty bad

You're not supposed to eat them whole. You would add them to a sauce or garnishment to add saltiness, not disimilar to the usage of soy sauce.

Chop up parsley, garlic and a few anchovy fillets. Mix in a bowl with some oil, and you've a sauce. Put on fish, chicken, etc.

Eat them on toasted bread. Do not put too much. Add cream cheese if too salty

You want the anchovy paste for spreading on toast. It's basically fishy Marmite.
The fillets are for cooking.
