my turn to post sear, so I was always getting a shitty kind of sear, meaning very uneven with big uncooked spots, etc.
I checked /ck/ and asked the anons getting an excellent sear, what was the trick, simple a tiny layer of oil/butter, that's it, the other part is pressing down the meat with the fork to reduce the uncookedness on the uncooked spots, here are the results, no cross cut shot, but it was kind ok inside nicely raw but without that nice gradient I tend to like
no cut shot because I didn't think about taking one, but this is for sure my best sear, not my best inside but the sear looked amazing

Setting looks very third world. Sad looking meal. Burnt shoe leather steak. No side dishes. Water with a meal? Paper towels? So sad.

>Burnt shoe leather steak
not at all, perfect sear, nicely raw on the inside
>third world looks
first world actually but that's how I roll, the steak was actually quiet expensive
>>
Women don’t like eating hunks of meat for a meal.

So tell me: do you pitch or catch?
>>
>>21683138
my biological woman liked it very much

Did your girlfriend cheat on you with OP or something?
Why act like such a faggot for no reason?

Based improver, got steaklets absolutely seething.
>>
sear the fat cap next time

I hate that nu-4chins has to be like this
>>21684046
like flipping the steak on the side to cooke the fat alone you mean? makes sense yes

Render the fat and cook on higher heat. If you can't get a sear on the outside before the interior cooks then you aren't using high enough heat. Also posting the sear of the steak without showing the interior is pointless.

it was a shitty vitro, on highest heat, I did what I could
> If you can't get a sear on the outside before the interior cooks then you aren't using high enough heat.
that wasn't the case
>Render the fat
how does one render the fat?
>Also posting the sear of the steak without showing the interior is pointless.
posting it on here was an after-thought, the inside wasn't amazing, but it was raw on the core and enough area, decent inside

>how does one render the fat?
>>21685145
I just googled it, yes it makes perfect sense
>>
so far got 2 useful advices ITT, render the fat first and sear the fat

Sometimes that's all you need, no bread or sauces or anything else, good job, anon!
>>
>>21687340
thanks anon, I had bread though, wanted to do fries, but this was at a hotel-ish apartment and I had a glass ceramic stove. I would have loved to do some fries, but as the only person cooking with a shitty small kitchen and so on it didn't seem doable, and I wanted to focus on the steak
