I had this shit for the first time today. It was told it was nasty and only for vegans. What else can I do with it besides it being a rice / carb/ meat substitute? I thought it was delicious mush.

Is that quinoa?

It's not that bad, it's the tastiest out of all the pseudo cereals imho. Maybe amaranth is close but it has a particular texture.

I soak quinoa in cold water for 3/4 hours so all the bad shit and irritating stuff is reduced and the grains become more digestible, rinse everything and cover with fresh water in a pot, bring to a boil and simmer with the lowest fire possible with the lid on until the water is absorbed, then turn off the stove and leave it resting for 3-5 minutes then I add canned tuna on olive oil and sauteed zucchini.

I love buckwheat, but granted i douse it in butter so that may help.

Very nice, I do near the same and the flavor is so much better than just cooking straight out of the bag. Literally eat it with almost every meal now
