ITT: unfairly demonized foodstuffs
>>

Why does it say "real" you can't sell mayonaise with the label as mayonnaise when it's not actually mayonnaise right?
>>
>>21686408
because it's real mayonnaise. this aint rocket surgery
>>
>>21686408
I think it's some kind of flex on whatever fake ass bullshit vegan homos eat
>>
>>21686395
coleslaw
>>
animal fats, msg, dietary cholesterol

gutter oil spreads and processed sugar should be demonized even more
>>
>>21686427
Its more a flex on their main competitor: Miracle Whip.

America is a country awash with processed fake garbage, so the idea or reminder of something being a genuine article or "real" makes it more appealing.

distinguishes it from *spits* light mayo
>>
>>21686697
How is light mayo not real mayo
>>
>>21686700
it's an imitation of the real thing
not nearly as wonderfully eggy tasting and the texture is completely off
>>
>>21686707
You haven't answered the question. Diet coke is still real coke. Its cokes own recipe with the proper ingredients and its the same brand. Why would light mayo not be real mayo
>>
>>21686714
>Diet coke is still real coke
no it isn't
>with the proper ingredients
sugar replaced with sweeteners
you couldn't be more wrong if you tried

Weird how you ignored the qualifiers before what you quoted. I see you aren't interested in an actual discussion. Have a good day.
>>
>>21686726
a good day to you too retard, maybe someday you'll evolve beyond having the brain of a lesser ape
>>
>>21686408
You can though. I think vegans are still allowed to have their "It's JUST mayonnaise!" stocked in stores despite it not being mayonnaise at all.
>>
So mayonaise is specifically: egg, oil (any technically) and water as it's an emulsion.
That is very flexible but it can never be vegan because of the egg, right?
>>
>>21686523
Ketchup haters do so purely out of contrarianism. It's as close as any sauce could be to being an objectively great sauce. Salty, sweet, sour, savory. Beloved all over the world. Nobody can even call it bad, the worst people have to say about it is "I-I saw a child eat it once, so now I would feel childish for also eating it!" which says more about them than anything else.
>>
>buying mayo
Just fucking make it it's simple and you avoid the forever chemicals big pharma is pushing.

I don't know why, but ketchup gives me flavor fatigue quite unlike any other sauce or food product I've ever had. Mayo is addictive for obvious reasons, and I can eat a whole rack of ribs slathered in barbecue sauce, which really is just ketchup with molasses, mustard and seasoning. HP/A1 I enjoy in large amounts with grilled meat, hot sauce I'll eat until I have a stomach ache.
The first few fries I dip in ketchup are heaven on earth, then it loses all appeal to me. I can't be the only one who feels this way.

Metabolic poison. Gallstone fuel. Oxidizes readily requiring even more preservatives. It's trash as is anything using it. And it's too simple to make not to do it yourself.

As someone from the UK to save bankrupting yourself over mostly shit, the stuff worth getting is:
>HP brown sauce
>Colman's Mustard
>Yorkshire Tea
>Branston Pickle (have with mature chedder)
>Tizer

I was raised on miracle whip, there was a time or two I had hellmanns and thought, why is it so bad and different
then I tasted regular mayo and realized, mayo is god but hellmanns is trash

dukes is decent enough though, too thin for me

had the Gold one at a now-closed British teahouse in Connecticut. fucking delicious with milk
>>
>>21690346
I'm from Yorkshire and it is the only black tea we drink. I think we are so used to it, we think it's the baseline to for tea.
I remember going to NYC and my dad having tea there and getting irate at how terrible it was lol.
>>
>>21690362
>I'm from Yorkshire
oh then you're just who I want to ask about this. would it be worthwhile for me to get this online? none of the British stores around here have it and I've always been curious
>>
>>21690365
Hendos is good, it differs from Worcestershire sauce as it's more sweet and isn't fermented with anchovies as its counterpart is. Tbh I like both but by Hendos more because its cheaper than Worcestershire sauce. I wouldn't say you're missing out not having it.
>>
>>21690365
>oh then you're just who I want to ask about this. would it be worthwhile for me to get this online? none of the British stores around here have it and I've always been curious
nta but it's close to Worcestershire sauce but without the anchovies.
So, vinegary and spiced, nice on meats but I'd recommend Worch over it since the fish adds a depth of flavour that Henderson lacks.
It's like the difference between UK brown sauce and A1 steak sauce.
>>
>>21686408
It's a way to make the product more appealing due to shit that is a mayo substitute
>>
>>21686670
might as well be estrogen in a bottle frankly

Cheap salsas are often the best. Sometimes you want that basic tomatoey taste instead of a lot of cilantro or serrano or whatever weird shit.
