I mean, yes, lactose gives me diarrhea, but I still take it anyway. Milk tastes delicious and I'm worried about the calcium intake in my food.Sometimes I drink a 2 litre tetrapack of milk in a single chug, and it just now occurred to me that diarrhea might not be the only effect in my body, and it might have lasting consequences that are damagung my body.Am I ok?
>>21687670Diarrhea is good for you anon
>>21687674that's what my boyfriend says
>>21687682>>21687674who has that 'toss comic where he's all like "oh no we're out of lube"
>>21687670Having constant diarrhea fucks with your microbiome, which in turn might cause other issues along the way. Normal dairy consumption won't kill you (although two litres in one go might be considered excessive), but you would be better off, getting your calcium somewhere else.If you insist on eating dairy, greek yogurt and cheese have less lactose.
>>21687698>'toss comic>he's all likeYou are all around trash. KYS.
>>21687670Can't you just take a pill for that anon? Why deal with awful diarrhea when you don't need to?
>>21687670if you're lactose intolerant you can still tolerate around a cup of milk especially if it's mixed with food. lactose intolerance isn't like an allergy but diarrhea affects your gut flora like >>21687710 said which can have all kinds of negative effects. and diarrhea itself is inflammatory because it's usually more acidic so it basically burns your digestive system.
>>21687670your only mistake is not doing it more, it is very possible to rehabilitate your lactose digestion by consistently eating dairy every day for 3-4 weeks, sometimes less
>>21688200This is only true for some people. Some people produce the lactase enzyme and their body will increase production, but some people just don't produce it at all and it won't matter.
>>21687670Aren't there enzyme pills you can take these days?
>>21688204no, it is true of all peoplethose that lack enzyme production will instead cultivate a gut biome that can digest lactose for youcolonizing your digestive tract with lactobacilli WILL make you lactose tolerant no matter your genetic deficiencies
>>21688226That can still only help so much. Your gut flora can break down fiber too but not that much. A large portion of your small intestine normally contains little to no bacteria so gut flora isn't going to help there.
>>21687670No, like it is not safe or normal your unhealthy obsession for japanese cartoon for children, you disgusting manchild pedo freak. You sicken me.
>>21687973Why don'tcha go poop yourself and I'll be there in a minute to anally ravage you.
you can train your gut to digest lactose, i stop having diarrhea by week 2 when i start drinking milk, lactase pill can help reduce the diarrhea
Lactose intolerance is the biggest meme. All it means is that lactose acts as prebiotic fiber rather than sugar. If anything milk should be healthier this way.Of course you don't want to guzzle a bunch of fiber that you're not used to eating, but if you work up to it it should be fine. The same logic would claim that every human has a bean intolerance.
there was a study where some guy or i think it was a woman actually gained lactose tolerance by consuming small amounts of warm milk with progressive overload
>>21687670is lactose intolerance real? for some reason i have only heard about it on the internet
>>21690192it's not like people talk about it, i've only known one person with it
>>21687670Nah man a kid in our school tried a bite of mac and cheese and his whole ass and intestines exploded across the whole lunch area. They had to fix him by attaching a baboons ass.
It depends on the severity of your intolerance. I'm okay with heavily processed dairy like real ice cream, real cheese, and yogurt. But a glass of milk or some protein powder with whey and casein concentrate will have my throat burning from GERD and have me running to the restroom.I can prevent the latter with lactase supplements, but they're expensive. I just drink lactose free milk these days.

If anything milk should be healthier this way.except it's sugar so it has nothing to bind and slow down digestion. when sugar goes undigested it often causes gas and diarrhea. that's why fruit juice can cause diarrhea but whole fruit doesn't, even if they both have the same kind of sugar.
