Serious discussion of GMO and Genetically engineered foods
>>21688605Who cares. Eat
>>21688605cue prolonged and pointless semantic argumentanyhow, prolly shouldn't be shoving goat dna into pineapples or whatever they been doin.
>>21688605GMO is just a part of a wider trend where the diversity of plants and meats eaten by people decreases by about half every 50 years. That is, people tend to eat less different plants. In ye olde days you used to have many different plants used for different circumstances (poor soil, rich soil, different microclimates, different conditions, etc). Via genetic engineering the diversity of these plants is no longer necessary which makes agriculture more efficient. From this point I consider GMO to be a bad thing because diversity of food is a good thing from a culinary standpoint.
>>21688609>who caresthe guy who made this thread, me, several people
>>21688613None of you matter
>>21688616sure i do. and you do, and so does everyone else. you shouldn't think that way, it hurts you most.
>>21688610i don’t have goat cum in my pineapples
>>21688616And who does matter?
>>21688611You've completely ignored genetically engineered food
>>21688609Everybody wants to feel good, you do too. You're just ignorant
>>21688605Only starving Africans need GMO crap.
I refuse to eat patented life forms.
>>21688605almost every food you eat is genetically modified in some fashion. it does not matter if it was bred to be a certain way or genetically modified. it is all the same.
>>21688621no. no you do not. no one will remember you if 200 years.
>>21688872Man it's pretty awful, some guy dies and is forgotten the next week. Even the memory of greatest who ever lived, Hitler, is basically just kept alive because it's profitable to jews.
>>21688605the serious discussion begins when anons of this thread are informed that genetically modified organisms (gmos) were renamed at the very beginning of 2022 by the usda to bioengineered food ingredients. they are in most if not all multinational products, including nestle and pepsi. and, what's more fucked up is that these companies need not inform people that these products contain bioengineered food ingredients. instead, a quick read or QR code is sufficient.
>>21688947Careful with that edge, son.
>>21688869any foodstuffs with the label of usda verified in the states are unable to use synthetic herbicides, fertalizers and insecticide. that does not necessarily mean they are synthetic free, but it also means there's a standard that may be depended on. so for instance foodstuffs with usda verified label should not or have a better chance of not containing glyphosate, a known carcinogen, than foodstuffs without the label.
>>21688869Retard.
>>21688605love gmo. it makes more food per acre.
>>21689046and in some cases, depending on the gmo in use, makes not only that acre dependant on its use but also the surrounding lands. for example, roundup ready crops. bayer's monsanto is grateful.
>gmo to make plants grow bigger or need less fertilizer or have more vitaminsbased>gmo to make it so you can blast it with herbicide and it won't die (the herbicide gets in the water and turns frogs gay)cringe
>>21689043Name a bigger man. You can't. The fact that his voice was the first to be flung into the aether beyond this dirt ball's firmament alone cements his legacy as ETERNAL.
>>21688611>>21688869The issue is genetically engineered not modified. Do you people even read?
>>21689145there is also gmo made in order to reduce pesticide use, making plants produce compounds toxic to insects but safe to eat for humans.
>>21688605They're an objective upgrade over selection that can and will introduce unnecessary mutations as opposed to a targeted change and the fact we still aren't allowed to do so on an industrial scale is another consequence of boomer retardation much like the anti nuclear sentiment.
