Why is sausage not considered appropriate dinner fare? We got steaks, chops, chicken, cutlets, but for some reason sausage is almost never a main dish even though it's delicious.
>>
>We
sounds like a (You) issue.
>>
>>21690305
since when is it not? I eat sausages for dinner frequently, I've also had them served to me at restaurants several times. what do you think they sell packs of italian sausages for?
>>
>>21690307
They're more often chopped up and used as part of a dish, not the focus of the dish itself. No one eats just plain Italian sausages.
>>
>>21690347
Pretty common in a lot of european countries. Gernany, Poland, that entire region.
>>
>>21690305
you must be a coastalcuck
>>
>>21690305
I bake them with potatoes in the oven.
>>

>Why is sausage not considered appropriate dinner fare?
By whomst?
>>
>>21690360
I mean, when you go to a restaurant, what's on the menu? You're not seeing big old plates of sausages unless it's some central/eastern european place.
>>
>>21690347
>>21690361
>You're not seeing big old plates of sausages unless it's some central/eastern european place.
Well, yeah, I'd expect sausages to feature prominently in restaurants whose cuisines feature sausages prominently.

>No one eats just plain Italian sausages
Does it count if they're with a side of mashed potatoes and some kind of vegetable?
>>
Sweet.
An American retard thread with American retard opinions. I love these.
>>
>>21690361
Bangers and mash is a common pub menu item, and I've been to fancier restaurants that served in-house made sausages as a centrepiece.
>>
I try to avoid cured meats, however, I do loved sausage, cabbage and beets and will now have them for supper tonight.
>>
>>21690374
I guess they have more variation of sausages which means you can make meals from it in more way you could for something like a hot dog or hot link etc.
>>
>>21690305
>Why is sausage not considered appropriate dinner fare?
when?
>>21690347
>No one eats just plain Italian sausages
have you hit your head, anon?
>>
>>21690384
>you can make meals from it in more way you could for something like a hot dog
Hey retard, you should look up linsen mit spätzle. It's literally hotdogs (also lentil and spätzle) for dinner.
Just because people in Babyjesusburg don't know what to do with a sausage other than fulfill repressed sexual urges doesn't mean nobody eats sausages for dinner
>>21690374
>I'd expect sausages to feature prominently in restaurants whose cuisines feature sausages
Make up your fucking mind, you blithering fucking inbred.
>>
Perhaps this is due to the custom of treating guests to freshly slaughtered meat rather than salted meat.
>>
>>21690305
>Why is sausage not considered appropriate dinner fare?
oh look it's another Why is X not Y troll thread.
>>
>>21690305
Its not?
>>
>>21690347
You've never had an Italian Sausage Sandwich?
>>
>>21690440
A sandwich is not for dinner.
>>
>>21690305
Same reason hotdogs and scrambled eggs aren't.
>>
>>21690445
>>21690446
they most certainly am are.
>>
My city has unofficially banned sausages and fries stand in festivals and I anger still.
>>
>>21690548
What did that stand do to get banned?
>>
>>21690579
They served sausages and fries when they weren’t supposed to.

in the city?

what the fuck is a "cutlet"
>>
>>21690307
OP is American, therefore ignorant to the fact that the rest of the world not only exists, but also does things differently.

Someone who can’t cut for shit, a.k.a you. Errrerr
>>
>>21690347
they are quite literally the focus of the dish in most dishes dumbo
like in summer time the main thing ppl will bring to a bbq is packs of pork or beef sausages to grill, maybe venison or lamb if someone's feeling different.
>>
it's usually put on bread so it's a finger food
finger foods like sandwiches are lunch
>>
>>21691658
But again that's more of a lunchtime thing. I'm talking about a polite dinner, with nice dinnerware, wine, etc. You put a sausage in there as the main course and everyone's like, what? What is this peasant food you're serving us?
>>
>>21691408
>the rest of the world not only exists, but also does things differently
>does
You said that quite Americanly, my American amigo, because you are also American, you American.
"The rest of the world" is a collective noun phrase. To "the rest of the world", it's treated as a plural. This is why newscasters on TV say "the public are", "the government are" or "the team are" when reading the day's stories. Only North American English treats those as singular nouns.
Why are you shitting on your own countrymen?
>>
>>21690305
Damn I'd eat those.
>>
>>21690440
>in before he claims something gay like the sausage is not the focus, but the bread or the mustard
>>
>>21692102
>Only North American English treats those as singular nouns.
almost like there's another country in North America that speaks English. or people in other continents who learned to speak English through American media.
>>
>>21691958
ok, so now we're moving the goalposts on the definition of dinner. anything to keep your narrative afloat. and even then, I think you're wrong. I don't think a specialty, in-house made sausage would be out of place in a "polite" dinner. have you ever been to an upscale butcher store and seen the kind of sausages they sell? it's far from peasant food. I've even seen sausages with wine IN them. I could see a gourmet sausage being served on some mash or root veg puree, with a side of apples and fennel, fitting in quite nicely on an upscale menu.
>>
>>21692980
Fucking and, retard?
>>
>>21693001
>I've even seen sausages with wine IN them
The fact that you think this is upscale/fancy enough that you need to emphasise
>NOOOOoooooo, it's IN the sausage! Like IN IT! INSIDE! WINE! IN THE SAUSAGE!
tells me that you have no understanding at all of what "upscale" actually is.
You must be disgustingly poor. Ew
>>
>>21693015
this post is art
>>
>>21693015
you're retarded. you just don't want to admit that you're wrong and have been thoroughly btfo in your own thread.
>>
>>21693015
>NOOOOoooooo, it's IN the sausage! Like IN IT! INSIDE! WINE! IN THE SAUSAGE!
I need someone to draw a comic of this
>>
>>21693026
Not my thread. I agree with the sentiments that sausages are perfectly valid meals. I posted >>21690377 and >>21690406
But I also understand that you have no concept of what something upscale is. You're trailer trash. Your poverty and classlessness disgust me.

how much do you guys pay for sausages?

in Ontario there's like nothing, but I found some frozen ones with no added sugar and syrup. $7.50CAD for 4. Is that a good deal? I ate them all today... 1600 calories. I haven't had meat in 4 weeks
>>
>>21693326
Depends on the sausage. Mass produced pigslop? As little as $2/lb for fresh sausage, even less for something like hotdogs.
There's a Polish butcher I like but haven't been to in ages. Last I went, parowki were $7.49/lb for delicious, made in house smoked sausages so they're likely about $10/lb now.
Also, why do Polish butchers have hot Polish girls working the counters? Like, literally every single Polish butcher I've been too has hot Polish bitches working the counters. I'm not even into white girls but goddamn, I get diamonds just thinking about them. I've got a chub going right now, in fact
>>
>>21693341
Canadian or American dollars?

I guess my frozen ones were $5/lb CAD
