I mainly only go out for chantrelles these days.

Input the characteristics you observe and it would give you a list of possible mushrooms with pictures and all the information on them.Then they changed it so you need a fucking account and an active internet connection to be logged in to use the app, rendering it completely useless in the field.Familiarize yourself with the distinct looking edible mushrooms that you can't confuse with poisonous ones.For more generic looking mushrooms that you think are edible but not 100% sure, start with a small nibble. If your tongue notices anything sus, trust your tongue. If it passes the initial taste test and you want to eat some, slice them up thin, boil them twice in plenty of water (change the water), then fry them. Don't eat a huge quantity either. This way if you do end up eating poisonous mushrooms, you'll just get a little poisoned and end up with a stomach ache instead of destroyed kidneys/liver.
