KFC doesn't have one defining good item. The chicken sucks, the sides suck. The Twister was good, they took it away. Also, it's pretty much the highest priced chicken place. There is no reason to go there.
These are both the result of extreme poverty becoming normalized.

If i decided i wanted fried chicken and was going to drive into town for kfc Id have to drive past a popeyes, a zaxbys, multiple gas station delis, a piggly wiggly deli and multiple mom and pop holes in the wall to get there.

It's actually insane how little value KFC has now. Just an 8 piece alone is nearly 3 times as much as fried chicken from the deli sections at any of the local grocery stores. For the same price I can just go to a korean fried chicken place instead and get something way better.

Frankly unlisted are regional places like Kennedy and Crown Fried Chicken that have also seen a significant decline and replacement by Popeyes, Raising Kanes and Chick-Fil-A over the last 5 years. Between venture capital investments and a simpler franchise and training model, a fresher look and a product with less waste, less oily hands and shit getting in your teeth it just kind of wrecks KFC.
