This thread is for to appreciate the wholesome order of French fries and gravy. Perpetual menu underdog, fries and gravy easily beats 90% of the other things on there. Superior to poutine, which is overburdened with cheese, F&G leaves you satiated but not bloated or slowed down with the poutine coma.
>>21692412fuck off canuck
>>21692415fuck off?fuck ON.
>>21692412Love it. There used to be a place in Danbury, CT called JK's that offered fries with gravy, either poured over or on the side. They closed for good a few years ago. They were an American-type restaurant known for their chili dogs. I've never found the fries with gravy combo elsewhere except in the form of poutine.
Americans preferring ketchup is insane to me.
>>21692431Oh yeah, I forgot Jollibee did that. We have one in my city but I never go there so I always forget about them
>>21692779my problem is that I know the gravy wouldn't be homemade
>>21692412I'd rather have mashed potatoes with gravy, but I wouldn't turn it down. With cheese pieces poutine seems extravagant anyway. >>21692785I'm American and I'm starting to prefer mayo. I don't eat fries much anymore because I eat home cooked food and fries at home sucks. >>21693816This is the issue. If I was using big cuts and saving the drippings I could swing it, but I'd have to use store night gravy. It's ironic. Gravy only exists to preserve the nutrition in what would otherwise be a waste product, it's the to stretch the calories available. Modern gravy is the opposite, it's a luxury you pay extra for. It's stupid, but tasty so we do it.
>>21695335It would be ok if it were mushroom gravy, no reason that has to be fresh. But I generally only see that with poutine.
>>21692412My favorite part of visiting Canada was the poutine. I don’t know how it’s not more common in the US. Delicious and not hard to make.
