Never understood the people who say their favorite part of a pizza is the crust. How is your favorite the part without the cheese and sauce?
>>21693392fuck off
>>21693392Favorite part? That's stretching it. But pizza is fundamentally bread, and if the crust isn't good enough to stand on its own, you need to admit that you're eating shitty pizza. Which is fine, you do you, but be honest about the slop you're stuffing in your fat, sexy gob.

Because pure bread tastes good if done well.
>>21693705Supposedly in the New Haven style, the purest version is just a "tomato pie", bread & sauce with no cheese, because the bread & sauce should be good enough to stand up on their own. Not many people actually order it that way, but it's still an option on the menu.
>>21694378I mean, I wouldn't order that for pizza, but if someone put really good bread topped with really good tomato sauce in front of me, I'm not gonna bash it. Simple ingredients, well made, is good food.
>>21693705Yeah, but not so good that it's better than the main part of the pizza.
>>21694378>>21694392That stuff is common in Rhode Island, where it gets called "pizza strips" or "bakery pizza". Just bread and tomato sauce. It's not amazing, but it's great as a kind of snack food. Just something simple and tasty.
