Hey americans, I'm gonna /ck/ thanksgiving dinner. What are the essentials?Blablabla incI managed to get a local farmed 6kg turkey from a couple of family friends.Inviting my friends and their partners/mutuals for dinner, the plan is to have a pretty big party (15 ish people) around thanksgiving which we don't celebrate in my shithole county. What are the absolute best based kino non-soy redpilled sigma cinema sloppas I can include in my arsenal of food to serve? Thanks in advance americans, some of you are alright desu(Anything recommendations that's easy to cook in bulk that's not shit really helps)
Mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, baked sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top, green bean casserole, baked macaroni and cheese, stuffing, cranberry sauce, rolls, pumpkin pie, cherry pie.
>>21693572Yeah this is pretty much it, honestly you don't need to spring for scratch for these foods, simple box recipes does the job for stuffing and green bean casserole if you're just doing it for the novelty of it.
I'm american but with foreigner parents so I have things with my thanksgiving that aren't entirely traditional. I like roast onions, roast parsnips, roast brussel sprouts, yorkshire pudding too. You can consider ham or roast beef if you want more than just turkey as well. The roast parsnips are my favorite though.
>>21693595Also banana pudding is my favorite dessert. You need Vanilla Wafers TM (or some similar alternative) if you want to make it traditional. I don't know if you could find that easily over there.
>turkey>ham or roast beef is also usually served>turkey gravy>mashed potatoes>scalloped potatoes>sweet potatoes>steamed/boiled vegetables like carrots, turnips, asparagus dressed in butter and herbs>coleslaw>casseroles are common>bread rolls>stuffing>cranberry sauce>pumpkin and apple pieall i can really think of but i'm sure there's more
>>21693568>What are the essentials?family and friendsbetter luck next year, champ
>>21693595This was my plan! Prepping mostly local autumn crops in 100 different ways (mushrooms and root fruits and such)Ty answers! All of this is nothing to fancyTried pecannuts and pie yesterday, holy shit. Impossible to find pecans here, but it almost rivals macademia THE god tier nut
>>21693610gottem! op btfo
>>21693572Cherry pie sounds insanely good
>>21693880XDDDD
>>21693568Just get basic ingredients that don't really go together then cook them really poorly. Remember that packet mixes and condensed soups are your friend.
>>21693881tastes so good make a grown man cry
>>21693891It's a one time occation! I'll skip using stuff like this, 5-6 well crafted dishes should be enough>>21693907Gonna give my GFs mom this task, sounds like something that tastes best if made by an older woman
>>21693572>baked sweet potatoes with marshmallows on topif you're not also adding roasted pecans to this you're really fucking up
>>21694651Yeah, sweet potatoes suck so if you're going to bother you have to paradoxically down them in sugar (marshmallow in this case) and pair it with a nut. Big Mike Obama was pushing sweet potato fries back in the day and they fucking sucked. No one wants that shit straight, and you can't call it health food when you have to drown it in calories to make it edible. The priority order isTurkey "Stuffing" GravyCranberry sauceMashed potatoesIn that order, everything else is optional. I've never seen beef at Thanksgiving in my life, but ham is 80% likely if there's more than 10 people. Otherwise the rest of this>>21693608And I'd say deviled eggs are pretty common as well. And cookies.
>>21693568Anally rape a turkey with seasoning and fruitMashed or scalloped potatoCole slawStuffingCornbreadCranberry sauceAssorted veggies/greensGreen bean casseroleGravy..lots of gravySquash rolls with butter and homemade jamApple and pumpkin pie and custard or ice cream for later, then die from eating too much
>>21694820Forgot, I like some bread and butter or dill pickles on the side or pickled beets are tasty too. Deviled or pickled eggs are great as well
>>21694798sweet potatoes are delicious but they can be made more delicious by adding other delicious things. and that's american cuisine in a nutshell.
On the coasts shellfish are common. Sometimes lobster. All are historically accurate. Green bean casserole is not. Venison was. First thanksgiving was chill as fuck. Pilgrims didn’t slaughter that tribe until 50 years later.
>>21694798>sweet potatoes suckRetard comment.
what does /mutuals mean in this context
>>21695175I dunno but I'm not helping OP
>>21695183it sounds like a gay thing but I wouldn't want to assume
>>21693568>15 people Too many. You're can't cook Thanksgiving dinner for 15 people in a tiny europoor kitchen. Order Chinese food. That's an American tradition when you can't cook on Thanksgiving.
>>21695048All good bro, who needs green beans? Feast on the venison and fuck the ladies
>>21695198Fararahaaahhfaraaah
