Five years ago, I threw away all my nonstick pans, and tried everything else, including stainless, cast iron, enameled cast iron, carbon steel, tinned copper, clay, and many variations of the above. Different thicknesses of pan, different construction methods, this texture vs. that texture... My conclusion is that as long as the pan is hot enough to actually fry the food, and you use some kind of cooking oil, the pan material doesn't matter for 98% of cooking.
ok

>>21694640But what's easiest to clean and maintain?
>>21695272I would say stainless.

>>21694640honestly yeah. my preference is stainless steel cause it's so easy to keep clean. but anything is fine, I have used all kinds of pots and pans and find no meaningful difference most of the time. I'm fine with non-stick too, what's the problem with it? gonna give me cancer? whatever, fucking everything gives you cancer.
>>21695363So don't eat the pans.
My wife wants a new frying pan and saute pan and she was looking at the hexclad stuff. It looks way overpriced to me because it has gordon ramsey's name on it. Can anyone recommend something similar thats not so expensive?
>>21697110Hexclad sucks. Do not buy. I did, all their marketing is BS. It's like any other teflon pan. It will wear out. The only advantage is you can kinda use steel utensils in it, but you're still gonna damage the teflon faster that way.If the main draw is she wants a more durable nonstick pan, go for the Misen carbon nonstick. Watch some videos on it, it's incredibly durable, and the finish it uses means it's a lot more corrosion resistant than normal carbon steel pans. It's also very nonstick. Way more than my hexclad pans were, even when new. For a saute pan try to talk her into just using stainless. It's the way to go.
is a 20QT mixer too much for a household? my 7QT stopped working

>>21697146new hobarts are 8k wtf. where do you find used kitchen equipment?
>>21697130How big is your household and do you sell the food you bake on the side? What are you making that you are routinely using a large stand mixer?
>>216971764 people, and give a lot away to extended senpai no not a business just thought it would be less wear and tear on a bigger, better mixer so it can last forever vs a 7qt making dough all the time
All clad factory seconds sale is going on now at https://homeandcooksales.com/?cjevent=1cedb67f69c511ee83b2019a0a82b839I bought a couple pots and a casserole pan, the cosmetic damage is so minor that it's hardly noticeable, and it was about half the normal price.
>>21695271the glass one will shatter if i bash a woman with it
I quite like the misen carbon nonstick
>>21697158oh yeah the price gap between "high end home mixer" and "low end professional mixer" is absolutely disgustingly huge, if you care about price then definitely just stick with a big kitchenaid
>>21697158>where do you find used kitchen equipment?restaurants close left and rightjust search your area for restaurant supply store. call and ask if they have a used section
