>are dried beans REALLY worth it compared to the canned stuff?
Yes
>some tips to prepare them in the best way?
Can them
>>
Yes it’s way cheaper and requires a tiny amount of prep.
>>
Yes. The taste and texture of dried is much better than canned. It's like comparing frozen food to fresh food.

pressure cooker

They've been shrinkflating canned beans, buying them dried ensures you're getting the right amount by weight and not just bean water

Most supermarket canned beans are trash and preparing from dried is far superior, but on the other hand you can buy very good quality canned beans that are comparable to preparing dried beans at home, but they tend to be more expensive.

You can increase farting by not presoaking.

If you're eating something where beans are the focus, yeah it's worth it. Dry beans end up with a better flavor and texture. If you're just mixing a small amount of beans into something else then sometimes I find the convenience of canned to be worth it.

Just don't get canned beans with calcium chloride or other firming agents. They end up with an unpleasant texture sometimes where they seem similar to undercooked beans.

good to know, I'll prepare them like that for my gf then
>>

Make sure you check them on a white plate for rocks. I’ve only had one but I didn’t discover until a few chews in and could easily have broken a tooth.

You wouldn't think canned beans would vary based on the price, but they do. The cheaper private label beans have more aquafaba than the name brands. So in a way you really do get less product for your money.

The secret is to cook them in a pressure cooker.

Why do you guys like booty wind? Genuinely curious, what is the appeal?
>>
>>21695020
With canned you're just paying extra for water.
>>
>>21695020
hell yeah they are
got some on the soak now, thanks for reminding me
plus canned shit is heavy and takes up too much room, and is stored downstairs and expensive,
also I know every ingredient in my beans
>tips
no

Canned whole beans are literally only used for retards that don't know how to cook, or for letting it rot at the grocery store so as to give them away eventually to some food bank that will launder the food and send it to Apefrica.

>Canned whole beans
so canned split beans are ok
>>
>>21695590
Split peas in their own stew and some ham are fine. But whole beans cans are cursed IMHO. Why not just buy canned refried beans outright since, for like a .70 cent difference, you buy that and have a more nutricious meal since garlic, onion, spices and oil are added and priced in already?

Now you have 2 bean flavors to savor
>>

farts are funny and proof that god loves us
>>

>rinse
>soak for at least 4 hours, overnight is better
>drain
>put into pressure cooker with equal part water (if you used 1 cup dry beans, use 1 cup water) and seasonings of choice
>pressure cook for 20 - 25 minutes
>let sit for at least 5 minutes after turning the heat off before releasing the pressure
>enjoy your beans
>>
>>21695020
It's the standard in my country, no one buys the canned stuff here

>Split peas in their own stew
what about split peas in another bean's stew?
