>AI is bad>solves herbicides
>>21695905thats going to be expensive as fuck and will only work while the crop is still shoots. once the crop grows you'll still get weeds but you wont be able to laser them
>>21695905>AI is badFor a lot of things, yeah.
>>21695905Herbicides were a problem? And now they've been "solved"?I don't think this thread is going to make it, assbag.
>>21695905>ahh noo my field is full of mirror weeds! they adapted to my heckin laserino!!!
>>21695905Well farmers are swimming in money rn so I bet they'll be thrilled to invest it in a cumbersome and untested product
>>21695905At that lightning speed it'll only take from dawn to noon to get from one side of the field to the other
>>21695905rad 720 noscope montage
>>21695982Even if it took an entire day, they only have to use the lasers once or twice a month depending on the crop and its soil content.
>>21695975This. Every farmer I meet is loaded. Stop trying to tax billionaires and go after farmers already. It's where the real money is
Weird how that tech was developed before the recent AI craze. Must be time travelers.
>>21695987>once or twice a monthweeds grow like crazy, try once a week>>21695982make it ai driven and use it at night too, 24hr weeding
>>21696025if these ever use ai drivers and take off they're going to be drawing cropcircles everywhere when people find out they're security vulnerable with enough processing to mine NFT's and crypto
>>21696029tinfoil hat off, meds now.
>>21696036i don't think it's a conspiracy to say this shits going to be broken open like a new game releaseor powered by A.I. (an indian)
>>21695905This is pretty fucking cool actually. I don't know of it's practical or solve herbicides, but it's cool.
>>21695905ai is shitcoins all over againhey guys crypto+farming, think about the opportunities
>>21695905and it uses more diesel
>>21696050>practicalIt isn't. Too slow and power intensive.>solve herbicidesIt doesn't. Next week those crop plants will be providing visual coverage for the weeds.
>>21695989Farming is a strategic sector, anon. We europoors are held by the balls by whomever controls the grain supply. Why do you think Ukraine is a big deal?
>>21695987Real question, do you know what a hoe is and how it is used? And I don't mean the kind that gave you birth.
>>21695905How much organic matter in the soil is killed under the weight of this giant laser on wheels?
>>21695975>>21695989You're out of touch. Crop prices have been in the dumpster. Most farmers, especially ones growing soy, haven't turned a profit in three seasons.
>>21696150Do you nead a "/s" to tell when someone is being sarcastic?
>>21695905>AI is badsaid only dullards.
>>21696150That's ok since taxpayer funded subsidies dont have price fluctuations and thats what they actually farm
>>21695905>pattern matching is AIholy shit retard.
>>21696306In case you haven't noticed, every product is marketed with meaningless "AI" nonsense these days. I fully expect that the next bag of potato chips I buy will say "made with AI".
>>21695945Sounds good enough. That's when it's most supple and susceptible to be damaged or overgrown by other weeds. Once mature it'll have much greater own resistance.
>>21696313nah I know. I remember the first year where all the tech shit had AI plastered all over it>coming soon, AI 20tb Hard Drive>PC Case for AI>Case Fan Designed For AISo stupid.
>>21695905Can't wait to get lasered from space for wrong think.
>>21695989Not everyone with more money than you is ‘rich’, you stinking poor.
>>21695962>Herbicides were a problemThey are a lot more expensive than electricity for a laser diode (I doubt these things use fibre pulse lasers). Weeds grow resistant to herbicides, they are unlikely to evolve anti-laser protection.>>21695945>thats going to be expensive as fuck Chinks will ignore the patents and build them cheap. There is nothing inherently expensive about them. Laser diodes are cheap, 1D galvos are cheap, camera's are cheap, micros which can run deep image models are cheap. The actual components for something you bolt to an existing autonomous combine is probably only a couple thousand. Lots of money in development cost, but that goes away in volume.
>>21696478>they are unlikely to evolve anti-laser protection.Fast forward, 2042, the weeds have become self aware and have begun firing lasers back. THIS IS THE FUTUE WE CHOSE
>>21696478Wait, what does ai have to do with he lasers?
>>21696478The Chinese will sell you a glorified lamp that does nothing. It's a scam product anyway
>hack into it since it's always on wifi to spy on farmers>make it target the crop plants
>>21695905Didn't work so well in Independence Day.
>>21696800dubbs of ominousity
>>21695905need a version of this that just has lenses to focus sunlight to cook the weeds instead of these big ass lasers with big ass batteries
>eating crop slop to begin with you already lost
>>21695905Has nothing to do with AI tho.If that is AI then the cameras that check things like kernels or nuts speeding by and blow away individual damaged ones, a tech that has been state of the art for many many years by now, is AI too.
>>21695905That isn’t AI
>>21697165The camera just the sensor. Both the optical nut sorters you're talking about and OP's fictional weed blaster have camera and other sensors. The difference is how the inputs from the sensors are processed into function. The nut separator uses the inputs to separate nuts in a highly controlled factory setting. The AI weed holocauster is scanning and IDing different plants in a non-controlled environment and directing a laser.
>>21695905How is this A.I ?
>>21697402>>21697610>the only "ai" is chatgptyou niggers are so stupid its unbelievable, machine learning has other applications than pretending to be anime girls for you
john deere fixed this almost 10 years ago with see and spraycameras that sense known weeds and spray with a spot sprayerit uses existing equipment and doesn't require you to drive a 4m wide implement at 2kph like a dumb set of expensive lasers with a massive generator to supply the required kilowatts of power to run it
>>21696114Human trafficking?
>>21695945once the crop grows the weeds will be smothered by the crop anyway. if the lazer cant reach the weeds, the sun cant either.
>>21695905>AIthere is a jeet in each on of those housings directing the lasers
>>21697638I never mentioned chatgpt, you are hallucinating, A.I does not exist.
Someday I'll get checked and burned too.
>>21697669>see and sprayThey have a robot in my country designed for tulips which does this, it does one row at a time and it sprays just above the ground with precision tubes. That John Deere thing sprays from a meter in the air across dozens of rows at a time and there's a tank for a couple 1000 litres of herbicide on it. That's a lot more of a scam than the lasers, the lasers can be selective from a large distance, spraying can not.
>>21697610it's trained to recognize and target weeds
>>21695905Can we apply the same technology to niggers?
>>21695905cant wait till we start doing this to the excess population so I can have more food to myself
>>21697950How is it trained, it is simply programmed.
>>21696430yeah, you don't have to be very smart to be rich, obviously
>>21695905this looks more like simple photo recognition rather than artificial intelligence.but i suppose ai has become somewhat of a misnomer these days as it is now a marketing buzzword
>>21699125yes it seems to be akin to setting up your smartphone to unlock when it is pointed at your face, or facebook identifying where the people are in the photo. no one is calling that AI.
>>21699176It was trained to recognize different weeds. >>21699125lol wtf? Apple, Google, Samsung (etc) face ID uses AI. It always has
>>21699160Anything using machine learning is considered AI, including both ML-based object recognition and the current boom of generative AI
