Unless it's a special occasion, I always use instant mash. Maybe my palate is that of a child but it tastes almost the same to me. Add enough butter and it'll be rich and tasty.

Another bonus is that it makes it a lot more convenient to make dishes that require mash like gnocchi or croquttes since you've eliminated half the work right away.

What? There's another one? I didn't check the catalogue but I agree that would look bizarre. I just made the thread cause I made it an hour ago with some roasted pork loin and carrots.

My favorite thing is making pot roast with extra gravy and having the leftovers with instant mash throughout the week as easy meals.
