yeah it's kinda big financial news when a company fires ~10,000 people

baconator is a greasy fucking mess and bacon itself is a fucking meme

I'm sure that they, like all fast food chains these days, are missing the fucking point of fast food entirely. If customers have to jump through seventeen hoops to order their slop at a reasonable price, they'll just stop jumping. They're too fat to fit through the hoops, anyway. When you alienate your base, your downfall is inevitable.

What kind of faggot gives a FUCK about corporate fast food? Especially now that it's WAY overpriced?
Sure, it'd be better if it were mcds, but they all suck desu, and Wendy's lost my support years ago anyway.

Good. Bring back my “old fashioned” yellow Wendy’s with a combo meal for 7 dollars. Otherwise I will continue to not eat there

They cranked their prices up to absurd levels while at the time reducing their portion sizes and quality. That's just not how business is done, even if it appears to "work" in the short term. They used to be the burger place that was basically McDonald's but tasted like it was made of real food. Was proportionally more expensive because of that but all in all was a decent place to get a very standard burger very quickly. This wasn't even all that long ago I'm talking about either. Being a kid in the early mid 00's, it was pretty much the default "cheap food" option for my buddies and I while we were out riding bikes or whatever.
It's nearly fucking inedible now and wildly fucking expensive. I've also noticed the employees always seem very fucking rude compared to other places. I don't expect anybody to dickride me at the fast food window but holy shit at least don't be a fucking cunt on purpose.
Pretty much same shit with all other fast food. Any semblance of the old pricing can only be achieved through apps and every restaurant delusionally believes that either every idiot keeps all of these apps on their phone at all times or that they're somehow the special one that people actually want. It sort of worked at first but now I just say "fuck it" and make the burger myself.
>You know how goddamn bad American fast food has to fuckup to get lazy burgers like me to cook instead?

They have good chicken sandwiches, baked potatoes and chili. We just got one in our middle of nowhere rural area a year or two ago and it was a big deal. I also like their fries and find them unique. You know, while I like their sexy mascot girl and their trollish social media presence, I don't think I've ever had a good meal at a Wendy's restaurant. Given the choice between a burger from Wendy's and a burger and one from a competitor, I'd pretty much always go for Carl's or Whataburger or even Burger King over Wendy's. I think McDonalds is the only chain serving up worse slop, and they're at least cheaper and faster.
>>
>>21707376

Wendy's has always been the best of the drive-thru options in my neck of the woods, but in the Northeast we don't have that many fast food options. It tends to mostly just be McDonald's, Burger King or Wendy's with an occasional Taco Bell
>>

>>

>I've also noticed the employees always seem very fucking rude compared to other places.

No one has mentioned, but Wendy's particularly did a huge push to hire only...ummm...."vibrant" employees and they all had the look an attitude to kill their customer base. What the fuck did they expect?
>>
>>21705166
Their sandwiches stopped tasting good 15 years ago. Anyone can make a baked potato far better than they did, and their chili is just burger remnants that spilled into a container that sat there all day.
It's over. Dave is dead, so is Wendy's.
>>
>>21704712
>Wendy's is failing and closing hundreds of locations

Their stuff is too expensive and they either don't have a value menu or it's secretly hidden and not displayed on the drive-thru sign.
>>
>>21709931
>but Wendy's particularly did a huge push to hire only...ummm...."vibrant" employees
that is most fast food places these days

I heard McDs was a low key real estate whatever and it's not hard to see this could be the start of FF joints starting that part of the business model.
>>

I've been to Wendy's once (I dont live in the US, they opened one in my city a few years back), had the baconator and it was the worst fucking fast food burger I have ever eaten. It was simultaneously completely tasteless and overwhelmingly greasy, it was all the bad things about fast food without any of the good. I thought they maybe just fucked up because they dont give a shit about overseas branches but from the posts it seems this is just what they are like now. Fuck Wendys
>>
>>21704712
Why don't they just stop selling garbage and sell good food instead? Then they would have lots of customers and could lower prices and make up for it on volume instead of trying to stay afloat on three customers per hour.

That's how it was when Dave was alive.

The training videos are on YouTube. They should watch those and learn how to operate their own restaurants.
>>
Wendys really suck at picking reataurant locations. Even if I'd be lazy enough to do fast food on rare occasions I'd still not go to Wendy's because their locations are so inconvenient and stupid a lot of the time
>>
>>21710184
they jewed out harder than any other fast food place. culvers takes their spot as the “more expensive but worth the extra cost” burger place. Hell, with how hard every other chain is jewing out culvers is almost economical at this point. a big mac meal in the usa runs you about the same as a butterburger double meal at culvers

Every other fast food brand is owned and operated by cost cutting kikes and jeets.

It's merely the first public step of a pump-n-dump. This time next year Wendy's will be owned by private equity that will suck the rest of the money out of the chain while also saddling it with the debt from their purchase of it. Between the drop in quality and price increases needed to feed the PE vampire and service the debt people will just stop going. The PE vampire will then do another pump-n-dump on some naive shmucks that think they can make a go of it but fail miserably because the name is trashed from years of being trash and the whole thing will fold up inside 10 years.
>>
>>21714163

I have mixed feelings towards Wendy's. On the one hand the sun rooms and yellow cups I'll never forget. The bags of 1$ jr bacon cheeseburgers getting me through college.
On the other hand my wife cheated on me with her manager when she was working at wendys and I've never been able to eat at that one since even though it's been 20 years.
Now the jr bacon cheeseburgers are almost 4 dollars and come with shitty shreddice. There's nothing left from the world in grew up in. Fast food threads make me sad but probably not for the reasons you would normally think of.

I quit going to that one and now drive about three miles to go to the next nearest one, which even though it's full of niggers, at least they aren't instantly hostile to non-niggers.

The last time I went to a Wendys was over a year ago, the line in the drive thru was long, and then it wouldn't fucking move.
Multiple people just left the line entirely. I had an hour to burn before I had to be anywhere so I stuck it out out of morbid curiosity.
The issue was that none of the staff could understand one another. The bitch taking orders was Indian, there was one white guy inside arguing with brown people and no work was being done.
I finally got my shitty cheeseburger meal but that was the last time I bothered with that dump.

Stock prices are based on the perception of the stock market's expectations of the company's performance future vs past. For a food company like this it means they've fucked up core fundamentals and now the market expects it to heavily reduce it's performance, in a way that not even closures and firings can temporarily improve.
>>
>>21710440
In my country there was a chicken/burger/chips type shop that was a bit more higher class (but still a fast food place) whose prices were not far off double what similar stores were charging, so I didn't go there much. Toward the end of covid and after every other store began raising prices so much that the original store, who never raised prices now had better quality food and with prices similar or even lower than competitors. So why bother going anywhere else?

>We got rid of all popular menu items
>And we even opened up 10 stores for ever 2 square miles
>HOW ARE WE FAILING!?!?!

I went to a wendy's last week and the burger tasted like fucking nothing. 10 fucking dollars for a flavorless burger. I thought I was getting the flu or something, it legit tasted like nothing except the salt from the ketchup. they should make their burgers fucking taste like something again and then people will eat there.

Unfortunately, they deserve it for that stunt they pulled by saying they were going to do surge pricing.
>>21704741
Also this. I should be able to get a Dave's Double medium meal for like $5-$7, same for the Spicy Chicken sandwich and the little burgers should be $1. Now they're trying to charge you $10+ for the dollar burgers and $20+ for the regular burgers.

If they can't afford to charge less than that then they just have to go out of business. There's no two ways about it. Them being able to last at that price would be detrimental for society.

The Baconator should have ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and cheese as well then it would be perfect.

> If customers have to jump through seventeen hoops to order their slop at a reasonable price, they'll just stop jumping.
Exactly. The food is just supposed to be a good price, and then if I get a coupon it should be for a free meal or something ridiculous like a big burger for $1. I shouldn't have to use my phone at any point, let alone having to use coupons on my phone just to get it for what the rpice is supposed to be in the first place (while also having to wave my rights to ever sue them.)

I don't understand. Yes, it would be better if there wasn't some rich guy on top keeping the lion's share, but besides that I'm fine with those restaurants existing if they're cheap, good, and convenient. I refuse to participate in this game of squeezing everything out of you at any cost.

Breaking the addiction to fast food and getting Americans to cook for themselves is probably the greatest achievement any president has ever done desu

Not that I'm aware but McDonald's had a double quarter pounder big Mac called the Mac McKinley in Alaska. best burger they ever did.

This is the same country that has a Waffle House Index

Tell him I'm jealous

They never should've gotten rid of their salad/taco bar.
>>
>>21728503
If Waffle House ever crossed the pond the EU would create a complicated, expensive version of using the Waffle House Index to organize migrant relief aid programs just with a different name to disguise it and pretend they were in charge
Thankfully most Euros can't wrap their heads around biscuits and gravy
More power to those who do, NGL

Did they only give you 1 cracker or 3 like they are supposed to for a large?
>>
Why don't they just watch the training videos with the rapper on YouTube and make the food like that and then they'll make a ton of money again? Instead they'd rather go bankrupt by selling shit tier food and not being fast or reasonably priced.

Culver's, In and Out, and Chick fil a all can run a fast food joint why can't Wendy's? Even if there's private equity demanding quarterly profits just sell good food and then they'll be able to open more restaurants and make more profits.

>muh in-n-out
Barely passable slop praised by californians who need to pretend that they don't live in a shithole.
>>
>>21729950
this desu
the only people I hear praise in-n-out are west coast natives that refuse to try anything else, and anyone vice-versa has only commented how they had to wait 45 minutes for an extemely below average burger and fries

Five guys is shittier than in n out at double the price, quality my ass

Just went today after a huge lul in good offers for like a month.

What does everyone think of these new sauces?
>>
>>21704712
I tried to order a baked potato w sour cream and chives and it was just a microwaved potato with chives sprinkled on. I thought they would at least make the middle fluffy or mixed with stuff, and bare minimum it should have had the sour cream.
>>
Good, I haven't eaten any fast food in well over a decade, it's not food, literal poison, if you eat that shit you are a bad person
>>
>>21704763
that's why you add lettuce, tomatoes, and sweet onions to it for free. becomes god-tier
>>
>>21722931
I think what's worse is half of them misunderstood it and think that customers want the brands to be endlessly lashing out at them any time they have slightly retarded feedback about the food they make
The video games industry also picked up on it and it's why it's in the worst state it's ever been
