>check ingredients
>it's the exact same product as domestic store brand pasta
What's the point of paying extra for imported?
I don't see why tariffs would matter either, if you're into ostentatious displays of wealth, what difference would a couple bucks make?
>>
Pasta la vista.
>>
Buy a pasta extruder and make it at home. They're only a few hundred bu ... horee chit! The machines aren't made in the U.S. and with tariffs cost more than a grand. Dang.

Good move making a NY Post version, WSJ was a little too middlebrow for the mouth breathers who visit /ck/. Though your choice of elitist, egghead, college-boy words like "ostentatious" was a risky move

>goes on cooking board
>doesn't know that the quality of ingredients with the same name can widely vary
>doesn't know that the cooking process makes a difference
please be bait
this has to be bait

for the slim chance that (You) are just genuinely retarded
>durum wheat semolina tastes growing region and growing methods
>type of water used
>machinery involved
all change the flavor and properties (e.g. how sauce adheres) of the pasta

it's not that you can't produce it in the US (except the quality durum wheat semolina)
it's that no one wants, probably because the margins are too small or there's no market as southern Europeans generally spend more money on quality food

>ostentatious displays of wealth
look at me and my 4€ worth of pasta instead of 60cents
>>

>>doesn't know that the quality of ingredients with the same name can widely vary
You retards are so gullible. This is why companies spend millions on advertising. Convinced you can taste the difference between elemental ingredients.

You're so stupid that you don't even get that Italy has shit soil and has to import the vast majority of their wheat. Authentic Italian pasta is made with American wheat.

>actually it's GOOD that grocery store shelves have a rapidly dwindling selection of products you can buy with your hyperinflationbux, you idiots just don't know what's in your own interests!
Remember when it was muh price of eggs?
>>
>>21711273
Remember when eggs went back to normal within two years?
>>
>>21711273
Trump solved the egg price crisis. Notice how nobody is posting in store prices anymore?

American store shelfs are meant for American products. Shitalian pasta from our Great American Famers and pasta makers. If you want it so bad, you can still order it online.
>>
>>21711291
>Trump solved
You mean the USDA solved. Luckily that won't happen again since woke science is illegal now and we stopped collecting data on bird flu transmission
>>

Can I get a source on that? Preferably peer reviewed.

Who cares about how ketchup I put on top of the boiled pasta stick to it?
>>
>>21711320

>>
>>21711257
Not him, but the difference between 80¢ great value spaghetti, $1.80 barilla spaghetti and $2.30 de cecco spaghetti are all very huge and noticable, and none of them are that fancy. You're stupid and a tastelet if you can't notice a difference.

Peer review is a scam. You know who came up with it? Ghislaine Maxwell's dad. Peer review is adjacent to Epstein pedophile blackmail ring scandals.

I can't tell if these "you will own nothing and be happy" MIGA-tards are sincere or if they're baiting.

Time for store brand pasta which is half the price of Big Italian.

I thought Trump just issued an executive order on eggs. The fact that he fixed USDA and that organically solved the egg crisis is even better.

Trump's finna fix beef prices too. Vegans and shitlibs will be absolutely seething.

why is the sausage better in vienna, why is the mexican food better in mexico?
it’s almost like the people who create the shit have more respect for it

I've had vienna sausages, they're disgusting little mushy hotdog segments. Super overrated.

TexMex mogs authentic Mexican food too. Real mexican is too poverty coded, TexMex has more meat and higher quality ingredients across the board.

If a box of Barilla goes form $3 a box to $6, does that mean store brands will raise their price from $1.50 to $3?
>>
>Foreign imports disappear
>Remaining American brands realise they can up the price and you have no alternative except spend even more to import

>B-but they wouldn't do that, companies are our friends!
Competition is what regulates prices.
>>

What part of "disappear from US stores" are you having trouble understanding?
>>

Feels good my fellow thrifty MAGApedes.
#Winning
>>
>>21711444
what are you not understanding? it’s not going to become illegal lol, there will just be less incentive to stock it on the shelf unless it sells well at the higher price
>>
>>21711453
And if the distributor drops the product, then what? Is Barilla going to open an account with 10,000 random grocery stores in the US overnight so they can ship out 10 boxes at a time?

I buy noodles made in America already
>>

You actually, unironically thought your neighborhood grocery store manager calls up Mr. Barilla every time he needs more boxes of pasta. I was going to ask if you have ever admitted that you're wrong, but I remembered that it's literally a central tenet of your religion to never admit you were wrong

>Shampoo
Check the ingredients
Cheap shampoo has the same ingredients as expensive shampoo
I'm too much of a retard to understand that the listed ingredients don't tell me how much of that ingredient is on the end product (what percentage of the weight of the product is that ingredient alone)
>>
>>21711204
All you need is a rolling pin and a knife to make most pastas. Unless you're one of those maniacs who actually enjoys macaroni.
>>

What could the different ratios be for Durum Wheat (Semolina) and Durum Wheat (Semolina)?
>>
>>21711291
You could always buy american if you wanted to, nothing was ever stopping a person. Foreign imports became prevalent because americans do not give a shit about buying american. They would rather a product be cheaper or higher in quality than be principally made in america. You can try to cudgel them and force them but you can't change that money is king in this country, and people want more for their dollar.

that was all fake and gay price spiking. there was never a shortage it was just businesses taking advantage of media fear porn.
america has a massive abundance of food, we WASTE more food than we consume. all this price inflation stuff itself is fake and gay. the companies could eat the cost of tariffs and feel practically nothing but instead they choose to hit the bottom line so hard just for LINE MUST GO UP

Italian Pasta is processed better than US shit.
Same with Italian flour.
It's not processed with pesticides and there aren't any fake fillers.

RFK is right about it.
>>
>>21711929
Italian flour is made from American wheat.
Don't talk about fake fillers when your country is famous for adulterated olive oil. The US has much better regulation and enforcement.

Even the machinery used to make the pasta is designed by Americans and built in an American owned Chinese factory.

>Italian flour is made from American wheat.
No it's not.
Real Italian flour isn't processed with glyphosate on harvest.
In the US, they spray gluphostate on wheat right before they harvest.
So you are always eating weed killer with US wheat.
Then the US adds a bunch of fillers to save money.

Eat a bunch of bread made from US wheat and then bread made from Italian flour.
It's obvious when your stomach hurts after eating US bread and not from the Italian stuff
