Did these become enshittified? I feel like they used to be SO much better than hostess and now they taste just as artificial as anything else.

Those types of products change all the time. They're constantly tweaking to save money or get better taste test scores with their market research stuff.
They were certainly made from fewer chemicals and preservatives when you first tasted them, but for the most part that kind of product has never been comparable to real cupcakes from a bakery. Why do you still even eat like that?

I don't really eat Americhocolate often enough to notice subtle changes but if even I can detect that there's something noticeably worse about Reese's and Snickers after this recent Halloween, then you know they're fucking up. Weird thing: I'm not a marshmallow guy but I got a gigantic fuck-off bag of that popular name brand of the bleach-white cunts last week at Safeway for a dollar something, intending to use them for making quick fondant and they're actually much better than I remembered. I'm such a non marshmallow guy that I can't even remember the name of the brand but you know the one. Jet Puffed? Or is that a process and not the name? Pretty sure the brand is owned by Kraft, either way.
