tell me what kind of varmints the hillbillies eat in your country
Bogans eat yabbies out my way. They're like a lobster if it exclusively lived in the mud and ate shit its whole life. You catch them with a variation of a bike pump
>>21714194>They're like a lobster if it exclusively lived in the mud and ate shit its whole life.So basically a crayfish? Our rednecks eat those too.
>>21714189I am seriously considering writing a cook book focused on recipes for animals only rarely eaten or those illegal to eat. Dog, cat, dolphin, squirrel, hamster, etc. Not so that people actually cook the recipes. More to answer the question, how do you actually prepare dog?So....can you guys post recipes or know of books/sites that contain some? Or do you know of other sources of information on this?
>>21714525>I want to write a book>Could you guys give me all of the information I need to write my book?if you aren't a zoomer you need to kill yourself

>>21714189We have problems with gypsy’s poaching deer. I fucking hate pikeys.

we eat these guysand pretty much whatever else honestly. never really thought of eating any vertebrate as weird. but not manatees, never heard of someone eating those
>>21714565Asking people is a valid form of collecting information, you dumb internet-brained loser. If you were to write a book about old french cake recipes you would also ask french grannies for recipes. One of you might have an old recipe book lying around that is nowhere available on the internet.Besides stuff like >>21714599 which I am already aware of, I am very keen to learn about European recipes for dogs, cats and similar. Some cookbooks from the early modern period have recipes for dogs, for example. Then there was a type of dog bred for working in the kitchen (running in a wheel to power kitchen tools), which, as it was already in the kitchen was apparently also eaten.
Gypsies eat hedgehogs in my area
>>21714194Crawdads are delicious
>>21714189Growing up my dad had a big ass dictionary, like 4 inches thick, that had a bunch of interesting side notes. I distinctly remember reading a recipe for iguana soup which even included what to do with the eggs if your iguana had them when culled.
Swiss Mountainwilliams are rumoured to eat dogs and cats. My mother swore to her death that everyone from a sufficiently isolated community farther up in the mountains with an Eidgenoss sticker on his truck regularly consumed cats and dogs, with cats being a favourite for Christmas. Not sure how true it is. These are just pervasive rumours throughout the cantons.
>>21714925From what I gather the commercial butchering of dogs and the sale are outlawed. But there are no laws against slaughtering and eating your own pets. The laws banning the sale of dog meat have only been passed recently in the last holdout cantons. So there are definitely many people living in Switzerland who would have had dog and perhabs even have dog.In Germany commercial butchering of dogs was only banned in 1986. Before that you could take your dog to a butcher and have him slaughter and process the dog for you. You just had to proof that you legally owned the dog.Cats have also been eaten in Europe until relatively recently. In Switzerland, Austria and parts of South Germany cats are sometimes called "Dachkanickerl" (rooftop bunnies), for how similar a skinned bunny and skinned cat look.Years ago I had found a blogpost of some guy who met a italian grandma who told him -in the waiting line of some food store- how to prepare cat meat. Apparently the trick is to keep the cat in cold, running water, like a mountain stream, for three days to tenderize the meat. Otherwise it is to be treated like chicken something.
>>21714189gas station burgers.
>>21714599So much soyrage over some shitty retarded animal. If we all ate dogs the world would be a better and quieter place.
>>21714574not gypsies but there were people catching and eating waterfowl around here, moorhen and that kind of thing
>>21714194Look at this fucking thing Its so fucking gay. I hate them.
Nothing weird. The most "exotic" animals eaten here (and it's hunters mostly) are pheasants, partridges, quail, woodcock.t. BulgeAryan
>>21714573Those carry very bad diseases. Hard pass.
>>21715416tell about dog spinning pls
>>21715416can confirm. hunters also sometimes eat wood pigeons and turtle doves, i guess that's the closest you can get to "varmint" here.>>21715844peasants thought it would ward away rabies

>>21714642Dogs and cats were eaten in times of desperation. Dogs helped you get more food and cats kept shit like mice from stealing your food.
