>>21717651ive done this a few times, works well. basically coat in spiced flour + baking soda, drizzle a little oil and iirc 45min in the oven flipping half way thoughhttps://youtu.be/7TRISjx8p_Q
>>217176511. brine your wings in salt water and honey for a few hours or overnacht (1tbsp salt and 1tbsp of honey per cup of water)2. preheat oven to 350ºF (not more or your honey will burn)3. pat wings dry and sprinkle with seasonings, don't overdo it, paprika or chilli flakes would be nice4. bake for 35ish minutes, feel free to turn the heat up for 5-10 mins to get some golden brown or char but keep an eye on them5. remove from oven and toss in a large bowl with your bbq sauce WHILE STILL HOT6. remove and arrange on a serving platter or dish so they don't totally drown or get too soggywhalaI do this all the time but I make a sauce from garlic, apple sauce, and soy sauce
>>21717651>>21718084coat your wings in oil and add salt and pepper (i use a ziplock bag). you could add paprika but you're missing lots of other spices to balance the thing out. like any other hot pepper (cayenne, chipotle, whatever), mustard powder, onion powder. sugar/brown sugar too.cook your chicken at 400f for about 30-40 minutes (depends on size and amount), turn halfway. coat in bbq sauce and you can broil them.if you want to make quick and easy honey garlic for a next time, use VH marinade. you marinate your chicken for a couple hours, and you can use whatever is left in the bottle to make an easy glaze when they're almost done cooking. just add more honey, and a corn starch slurry (2 teaspoons worth for a cup of marinade) and slowly heat. you can do it in the microwave. just you stop every time it's about to boil over, mix, until it's thickened. coat your cooked wings and shove them back in to broil.pic semi-related: I've been doing wings on coals all summer long. I dunno if I'm gonna use it this winter or do oven wings again
>>21717651I like dry rub/season, 400F for 1 hour (flip after about 40 minutes), remove and toss in any sauce. Wings don't NEED to be cooked this hot for this long, but this makes the outside skin nice and crispy every time without adding anything to it.Don't put any sugar (or sauce containing sugar) during the cooking, or it will just burn.
