At Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas, you could go to Quark's Bar and order a "Warp Core Breach". What do you think? Did you ever try this? Would you, if you could? What else from the menu might you have tried? Or general Trek food?https://fanfilmfactor.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Quarks-Menu.pdf

>>21722460Romulan Ale was only illegal due to a trade embargo, like Cuban cigars in the US. I seriously doubt Picard would let Guinan stock real alcohol at all if it was illegal, let alone provide it for her. Certainly synthehol is promoted over real alcohol for Starfleet crew as being intoxicated is bad for emergency readiness, but drinking the real stuff off duty is absolutely permitted and doesn't seem at all restricted for civilians.

>>21722518>>21722525Have to say though, one thing I haven't seen in the Trek universe is real beer, seems like Earth just produces wine and hard liquor in the 24th century.

>>21722538With how obsessed some humans/aliens are about making things the "old fashioned way" and hating replicated food and drinks Id absolutely think there'd be plenty of breweries around earth.People on trek drink beer all the time, but is it all synthohol? In DS9 Quark even pours it out a tap at the bar.
>>21722410Picard disappointed his father by joining Star Fleet and not taking over the family vineyard
>>21722554Quark absolutely had real booze at his bar, he poured kanar for Cardassians all the time
>>21722554The beer seems to be mostly synthale, but Quark being Quark he almost certainly has the real stuff as well, at least if there are some German autists on Earth still making it. I know it's unreasonable, but the only reason I'd go to a Star Trek bar is if everybody had to dress up like they WERE in Star Trek.
>>21723487From what I've read the staff took their jobs very seriously and never ever broke character, and the Klingons spoke actual Klingon. There was effort put into this
>>21723487>bar full of Troy, Janeway and M'Ress cosplayersI'll go as a fat Picard, and you cannot stop me.
>>21723490Well that's good to hear, but I mean the customers. I don't know if you could actually enforce it except with maybe a 40% comp if your costume was authentic.
>>21722410>People don't drink booze in Star TrekWhat a fucking shithole of a setting
>>21723538It's a problem for any experience designed to be immersive but you're not the only customer. The insanely expensive Star War hotel that got shut down after a few months had all the employees in costume and always in character but the other guests were walking around in cargo shorts and Taylor Swift tshirts. It's difficult to feel immersed when others are dressed that way. When Anthony Bourdain announced his Asian street food project in New York, I knew it was going to have the same problem. He could have cooks making food similar to what you'd get in some random alleyway in Saigon but being surrounded by fellow tourists in the middle of Manhattan wasn't going to capture the essence of the back alley experience. Some places do attempt to protect the atmosphere. Many higher end restaurants require a coat and tie, offering to loan them out if necessary, so the experience in the dining room isn't compromised. At the other end, the Heart Attack Grille in Las Vegas puts everyone in medical gowns. Star Trek costumes are a good bit more intricate so that approach would be more difficult to achieve.

The virginity in this thread is palpable.
>>21723978who did you imagine made up 4chan’s userbase?
>>21722286Suspiciously low price.Probably only one shot of each in there.
>>21723703It's a mix of a lot of locals being tied to the tourism (which is very down) and people who work remotely pricing them out (like me). It's great if you can buy a house in the nicer parts of town. It's very car dependent but you are no more than a 20 minute drive away from everything in the city because the roads are huge and it's only congested on weekdays around 9/5. A few neighborhoods keep some nice walking trails and you are within spitting distance of the trails at Red Rock. The immediate downsides are that car insurance is expensive and the healthcare here is some of the worst in the country. If I had school-aged children I'd probably leave the city before middle school or save up for private school. Also if you are an anxious person it's sometimes hard not to think about the groundwater being sucked up by CA and the potential for nuclear testing in Nevada again. Las Vegas is actually really water efficient. Living here will make you hate people who frivolously waste it haha.
>>21723757Chinatown is right off the strip and has some pretty good stuff, especially if you are weeb-leaning. I went to what I think was American Shooters (also in Chinatown) in like 2005 and they let me unload on a paper target of Osama bin Laden with an AK-47. There's a few gun places right off the strip, check them out and pick what's right for you! If you're an /an/friend the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve is just east of the airport and is worth a visit. It's gotten chilly here so definitely take a jacket with you. If you want to hang out on the strip I have one dice roll rec and one expensive rec: the guys who work at the HyperX Arena at the Luxor are chill and if there's nothing going on there's a bar in the back where you can drink and hang. Objectively it was nothing special but I had a good time. Then there is a meal at Sinatra in the Wynn, which will run you about $250 solo (app/entree/drink/dessert/gratuity). There's business casual dress code though, don't bother if you aren't incidentally packing a nice shirt and slacks. The "locals strip" is Fremont Street and the Arts District (Bar Ginza is my rec near here if your layover allows for it). If you have to keep your bags with you I would NOT go to Fremont Street. For touristy stuff you can grab a ticket for OmegaMart at Area51. I think it's neat that it exists but it's just SCP lite.

And im that episode where they rescued a village of 18th century Irish scum ( old tng was wild) they programed real alchohol whiskey to keep the Irish degenerates happy. And Picard was from a family of traditional winemakers, and would keep his family label wine, which he extoled as superior to synthol, for gifts and special occasions.
>>21724150I repeat: Scotty drank like a fish in TOS and it was real booze. And TOS is still Star Trek.
>>21723471Two very different bars, one is half military bar half cruise ship bar, the other is a shady port bar with ties to the criminal underworld. Ten Forward would be better for a quiet drink, but if you want a more interesting bar experience (or substances more interesting than alcohol) Quark's is a better bet.
>>21724056Hell yeah Kanar with Damarhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ea1AJKnPVO8
>>21724170I know Guinan keeps some secret stuff under the counter but overall Ten Forward seems boring and sterile as hell, much like the ship itself. Quark's has holosuites where you can fuck holograms.
>>21724054Someone as intelligent as Khan would presumably have had refined tastes in food.
>>21724299Ten Forward is a lot quieter though, plus Guinan is definitely the better mixologist. Like I said, it depends on whether you want a quiet drink or a proper bar adventure

>>21722513This guy's a retard, but his post got me thinking. If goods and services are generally free in the federation, does this mean that alcoholics can get all the free booze they want?
