I fell for the soup cube meme
Not sure how I feel about it
>>
>>21731688
I've never seen this, I kind of like the idea though to portion out a big mugs worth when you're in the mood for soup
>>
>>21731701
The ones in the pic are one cup cubes, there were also two cup cubes but i figure that I will just reheat two cubes
>>
>>21731688
Frozen or suspended in aspic?
>>
>>21731688
>Frozen food that doesn't suck when reheated
>Convenient brick shape for freezer storage
Not sure how this is a meme other than the fact that they seem hard to wrap.
>>
>>21731713
This is my second batch, I am just tossing all the cubes into a gallon freezer bag
>>
>>21731711
>>21731711
>suspended in aspic
how would that work?
>>
>>21731688
Those look like pig cups.
>>
>>21731725
I guess that's fine, but not so space efficient. I make broth cubes for individual servings.

whatever happened to just getting storage containers. they're so much more useful because you can put them in the oven, microwave, you can eat out of them, they seal up, etc.
>>
>>21732323
How do you get the frozen soup out of those to heat it up? OPs soup trays pop the soup right out.
>>
>>21731713
Vacuum sealers and bags are cheap af. Who the fugg wraps anymore? Even my parents made the switch a few years ago, and EVERYTHING was wrapped in foil for decades.
>>
>>21732326
Run warm water over the outside of the container for a few seconds.

my soop and sauce just falls out with a little wiggle because glass is smooth and impervious. anytime you need some help you either run warm water on the outside or put in the nukrowave for 20s. In any case, it's nice to have little glass containers that can go in the oven or travel to work or outing or whatever

I freeze my soup in these, but when I make soup I fill up my 12 qt stock pot
>>
>>21732343
My frozen soups and sauces always stick to my glass Pyrex containers and never come out easily. I refuse to have a microwave and I'm scared of running them under hot water because I shattered a container doing that once and cut my hand badly. I just let them come up to room temp and then pour them in a pan and heat.
>>

Gonna elaborate there Socrates?

I think you might need a care worker anon

I am trying to avoid plastic
>>
>>21732403
fair enough. I cool things off in the fridge before I put them in plastic. It's just not realistic for me to avoid it entirely unfortunately.
>>
>>21732421
It isnt really for any of us but I do my best
>>
>>21732403
You literally can't. Your body is wrapped in plastic right now. All your clothes have plastic in them. Everything you do at all times is plastic unless you're running through the woods naked. Even then there's so much plastic contamination that you would probably be treading on tons of microplastics with your barefeet. The device you typed that reply on is plastic. Now you tons of microplastics on your hands just from writing that six word response. When you brush your teeth before bed tonight think about how much plastic you're ingesting both from the toothbrush and the bristles and also from the toothpaste that came out of a plastic tube. Then when you settle in your comfy bed think about how all your bedding is plastic. We live in plastic now and there isn't anything we can do about it. I don't think uncontacted people like the Sentinel Island are safe from plastic either. The seafood they eat is infested with plastic. The rain that falls on them is infested with plastic. This is probably going to result in evolutionary changes in humans as our bodies adjust to being inundated with plastic our whole lives starting in our mother's womb.

>next day there's a puddle of soup in the fridge

>>
>>21732530
I always assumed the phrase was "Allah" on account of it being from France
>>
>>21732537
Why would you thaw them?
Put them in a pan with a splash of water and simmer till melted and heated through
>>
>>21732585
>simmer plastic wrapped soup cubes
Come on man. Do you WANT microplastics all up in your body?
>>
>>21732595
There is no plastic wrap on mines
>>
Are there any advantages or disadvantages to commercially available freeze-dried soup cubes?
>>
>>21732537
>wrapped in plastic
>leave to thaw
>somehow surprized that plastic wrapping can leak
use a plastic bag and seal the bag if you want it to thaw
how did you get past the captcha?

>>
>>21732327
Wrap was a colloquialism in that case. I just meant that nobody will be putting the raw bricks into the freezer and the cubes don't look like they'd be easy to get into a normal plastic bag and seal it.
Vacuum sealer is obviously always option #1 but I generally don't assume somebody has one handy kek
>>
>>21732432
you blackpilled yourself because you already resigned yourself to being a plastic man, that is honestly so pathetic man.
>Your body is wrapped in plastic right now. All your clothes have plastic in them
my clothes are not plastic because i was conscious about not purchasing polyester/acrylic/nylon fabrics. i rip the tags off if they have them.
>The device you typed that reply on is plastic.
the device i typed this reply on was an aluminum-body keyboard with ceramic keycaps because i've been paranoid about this for years already and i thank God i can afford to invest in my health.
>When you brush your teeth before bed tonight think about how much plastic you're ingesting both from the toothbrush and the bristles and also from the toothpaste that came out of a plastic tube
i use bamboo and boar's hair toothbrushes. i use baking soda and salt as my toothpaste.
>Then when you settle in your comfy bed think about how all your bedding is plastic.
cotton sheets have always been the standard? you are a retard for buying polyester walmart sheets, and my blanket is made of wool.
yes there are unavoidable sources of plastic in this world but that is the exact reason that we need to ban this substance from single-use and foodservice applications, and i would have polyester banned as well if i had it my way.

OP here
So far I have frozen six cups of soup and six cups of chicken borth
Each set of cubes went into a gallon zip lock and packed nicely into the freezer.
I took two soup cubes out today and put them in a sauce pan with about half a cup of water
The soup reheated well

I am calling this a success and worth the ten bucks I paid
>>
>>21733431
Yeah, yeah, I'm sure you actually do all that and you're not just lying on the internet to be an asshole trole.
>>
>>21734873
i really do all that, there are even sheepskin soles in my boots. please get your money up if you really care about the plastic issue. all of us are victims of big plastic
>>
>>21735040
Your money is made of plastic. Cards, phone tap, and physical cash are all made of plastic.
>>
>>21735055
see my original reply. these applications of plastic can and should be changed, there are things wrong with the world anon, surely you can see that
>>
>>21735057
But there's nothing you can do about being blasted by plastics 24/7. None of us can escape it.

wrong, i truly hope you escape your blackpill mindset. the world needs heroes to save it, blackpills are what villains use as an excuse for their actions

I've been using baking soda on my top of my toothpaste just to keep them pearly white. But why baking soda and salt? Why the salt specifically is what I'm asking?
>>
>>21735230
somebody online said celtic salt was good to add, got influenced. idk exactly i think it’s supposed to help with remineralization.
i would also like to add pearl powder like the chinese do but dont want to buy it online n get scammed
