lmao how are they expecting $6 now for this
>>21732053if your going to spend $6 at the publix bakery buy those little guava and cheese puffs, those are worth the money
>>21732062ok based
lmaoI was doing the last bits of Thanksgiving shopping and found frozen no-sugar-added Marie Callenders lattice-topped apple pies on a $1.57 managers special so I bought one.I figure drizzling or brushing a sugar syrup onto it before baking will make it taste like a normal pie. Enjoy your $6 tiny shitpie, tho
>>21732053>EBTthat's how
>>21732185Baker here to give my 2 cents you didn't ask for. Brush the top of the pie with milk then sprinkle sugar on that before baking for a beautiful golden crust
>>21732186no, publix has always been expensive. it's not really worth shopping there unless they have a lot of BOGO deals. i think to some extent they cater to wealthy older people who don't care about the price. it's almost like whole foods for older people.
>>21732053I dunno, it's $9.99 for a regular sized key lime pie, when it's on sale. Seems the normal price. Are you used to Wal-Mart? Those tiny pies at WalMart are loss leaders, like their $1 french breads.
>>21732196$0.02 accepted
>>21732204tell me how it costs walmart more than $1 to bake a shitty loaf of bread
I'm used to Costco prices where a pumpkin pie the size of a hubcap is $5.99. How the fuck are these overpriced supermarkets still in business?
>>21732478>nonfat milk, plus soybean oil>mono, di, tri and quadglycerides>probably phenylalanine >all wrapped up in plastic!i wouldn’t take that home from the store if they paid me $6 to do it
>>21732727how much would they have to pay you?
>>21732478oh this is a new one actually i’m glad you posted it. You gotta be careful>2% or less of the following spices: corn syrup solids, “modified” corn starch, more oil, salt, dextroseno cinnamon or any other actual spice.
>>21732730Probably $50 would do it, i’d drive it home then throw the pie away.
>>21732478My family has had 3 of these already this season. Very tasty.
>>21732405Workers have to be paid.
>>21732185>$1.57 for a 40oz pieHow the FUCK do you people find prices like this?!
>>21732853Not her but fucking and? Do you really think that a bakery worker is baking a single loaf at a time? Of course not. He's baking around 150 loaves at once while a second batch of 150 loaves proves the third batch of 150 bulk ferments and he forms the fourth batch of 150. If Walmart's bakery is anything like my old bakery job, a single nigga's baking 600 loaves before the sun rises. And unlike my old job, Jaquan is only getting paid minimum wage. So $7.25/hour or however much their paid these days over four hours = $29 divided by 750 loaves = less than 4¢ per loaf. You fucking clown.
>>21733245lmaoIt's as simple as looking. That's it. I've noticed the vast majority of shoppers don't really look at what they're buying then get surprised at the tills. I go to the store and buy what I was intending to buy but then also buy whatever is cheap that we'll use as well as things that are so cheap, that I can't pass them up, like that sugar-free pie. And not just that! 4ct boxes of Totino's were also on managers special for the same price. I've never had them before so I bought a box and when I unpacked it for easier storage in the freezer, I was disgusting by how they look but for less than 40¢ per pizza, it's not some huge loss if they suck total ass. Can't be any worse than Celeste, can it? And Celeste is edible.
>>21732478>How the fuck are these overpriced supermarkets still in business? Not everyone is price sensitive. Publix stores are generally clean and have well behaved employees. The customers also tend to not be price sensitive, which means they also tend to be well behaved. Staffing, particularly at the cash registers, is maintained at higher levels than discount stores. It's not nirvana but it's generally a more pleasant shopping experience than somewhere like Albertsons or Kroger. Meanwhile at Costco you're fighting armies of yellows and browns at every turn before your half hour wait to checkout.
