I was doing the last bits of Thanksgiving shopping and found frozen no-sugar-added Marie Callenders lattice-topped apple pies on a $1.57 managers special so I bought one.
I figure drizzling or brushing a sugar syrup onto it before baking will make it taste like a normal pie. Enjoy your $6 tiny shitpie, tho

Do you really think that a bakery worker is baking a single loaf at a time? Of course not. He's baking around 150 loaves at once while a second batch of 150 loaves proves the third batch of 150 bulk ferments and he forms the fourth batch of 150. If Walmart's bakery is anything like my old bakery job, a single nigga's baking 600 loaves before the sun rises. And unlike my old job, Jaquan is only getting paid minimum wage. So $7.25/hour or however much their paid these days over four hours = $29 divided by 750 loaves = less than 4¢ per loaf. You fucking clown.

It's as simple as looking. That's it. I've noticed the vast majority of shoppers don't really look at what they're buying then get surprised at the tills. I go to the store and buy what I was intending to buy but then also buy whatever is cheap that we'll use as well as things that are so cheap, that I can't pass them up, like that sugar-free pie.
And not just that! 4ct boxes of Totino's were also on managers special for the same price. I've never had them before so I bought a box and when I unpacked it for easier storage in the freezer, I was disgusting by how they look but for less than 40¢ per pizza, it's not some huge loss if they suck total ass. Can't be any worse than Celeste, can it? And Celeste is edible.

Not everyone is price sensitive. Publix stores are generally clean and have well behaved employees. The customers also tend to not be price sensitive, which means they also tend to be well behaved. Staffing, particularly at the cash registers, is maintained at higher levels than discount stores.
It's not nirvana but it's generally a more pleasant shopping experience than somewhere like Albertsons or Kroger. Meanwhile at Costco you're fighting armies of yellows and browns at every turn before your half hour wait to checkout.
